The mount head can rotate enough to keep the phone away from the
cup holder and any buttons that I'd have to use while driving. A tall drink in the front
cup holder will block the screen, but I can use the rear
cup holder without a problem. It only blocks the "v Seek" and "Track ^" buttons on the console (2015 Ultimate; other packages may have different buttons in these locations). I don't recall ever using these buttons (previous and next can be done from the steering
wheel controls).
I don't usually look at my phone while driving, so I prefer it being low and out of the way. I normally keep Waze running so I can listen to the voice prompts/warnings. I also like it being close to the outlet so I don't have to run the charging cable across the dash. I can see how people who look at their phone more frequently (e.g. following turn-by-turn directions) would want a higher mount.
Lastly, I've used the ProClip mount for several months, and it seems very solid and well constructed. If you prefer a lower mounting location and are willing to pay the price, I'd highly recommend it.
