If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone else have their center console squeak if they lean on it (even lightly). I want to see if it is the design or if mine is messed up.

Also when you state feedback, please let me know if you have the Technology package armrest or the regular one (as they are slightly different).

Have tech and never a squeak. 86k miles 2011 4.6

Tech, i just took a 400 mile road trip and i just notice today mine has a squeak!!

Can anyone without the tech package check their center console for me?

5000 miles and mine squeaks.

You guys sure it's the center console? My seatbelt assembly is the culprit in my car... all I do is, every three or four months, I put a little extra leather cleaner between the seat and the seatbelt clip, and I'm good to go.

I have the 2012 5.0 (not R-Spec). I have a squeak, but it is the leather on the seat rubbing (squeaking) against the console. I've tried leather protectant (Meguiars) on the seat and vinyl protectant on the side of the console without success.

2012 3.8, TECH. 14,000 miles, no squeak !

I'm referring to when I put my arm on the center console and put a little pressure on it, it squeaks bad as if it's not good quality or put together well.

09 4.6 w/ Tech. Center Console definitely squeeks when pressure is applied with my elbow. seems of very poor quality and is annoying...but not so much I've attempted to fix. ha.

Mine only squeeked when the interior was hot; once it cooled down to a climate controlled 68 degrees, it would go away. I think some strategically placed felt tape would cure it.

So I noticed a squeak in my rspec. I accidentally fixed the problem by routing my iphone cable out of the console with the console then shut. This eliminated the squeak and also the small gap - every time I would put my arm on the armrest it would go down a bit. Not anymore... lol ghetto fab!

I noticed it for the first time today on trip from Indiana to Nashville. It only squeaked when I leaned on slightly. No sound when not leaning on it or leaning on it a little harder

NB-Mike. Same response here with 5.0. Slight squeak since new when first lean or lean light on the console.

And I have the squeaky spring in drivers seat. 5.5k miles. And yes, the horrible stretched leather on drivers seat at the moment.

I commented back in post #5 that mine also squeaked, but since the weather has warmed into the high 80's and low 90's, the squeak is gone.

Mine squeaks quite a bit when I lean on it gently or hard... Drives me crazy. I'm thinking about taking it apart and sticking some felt tape everywhere, or maybe spraying some kind of non harmful lubricant into the hinges.

Mine squeaks too. Especially in winter. (I also squeak in winter.) I think the suggestion of adding a couple of adhesive felt dots is a great idea.
