  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody change their own wheels at home? . Like summers to winters? Used to do my Mustang but Genesis is pretty heavy. Is there a decent jack point that won't cause damage over time?

The jack points are documented in the owners manual. I don't know how "decent' they are.

The problem with the 4 jack points in the manual is that of you're jack is at a jack point, where do you place your jack stand?

Put mine on yesterday... no issues, and used my usual 4500 lb capacity jack. I must admit, I did not open the manual to check on the proper jack points, but my jack has rubber strips that prevent any metal to metal contact.

Compared to my '09 G37 sedan, it is noticeably heavy.

Once I was crawling around on ground level, I also noticed how much underbody protection there is on this car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
where did you jack up the car to place your jackstands under the pinch weld points?

I do it every winter and spring. In the front, you have to jack under each side on the pinch weld. Jack stands? Where we're goin' we don't need roads. Oh..sorry. Got off topic.

I just work on the car one front wheel at a time with it sitting on the jack (floor jack not the jack the car comes with).

For the rear...right on the ol' pumkin...

Thanks all. Will give it a go

So Hockey puck was good to go? Was looking up those jack pads and they don't even sell them in Canada. Amazon Canada site wants like $30 each for them! Thought maybe they were special non slip or something?

Sweet. No shortage of those in Canada.
