If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought my 2013 Rspec last week, and I love the white look of the HID and the LED accent "strip"
The DRL/high beam looks out of place due to its glaring yellow color.
I have read other posts of people replacing them with Nighthawk Platinums

for those using the nighthawks, do they light up whiter than stock as DRLs?

Any other recommendations for replacing the Hi beam/DRL bulb to get that whiter look for the DRLs?

A tough call. Since our high beams are also DRL's, HID's are out, and bulb life is probably going to be pretty poor with most of these aftermarket bulbs. The rating for that bulbs is by the shortest of what they offer. Combine that with PITA access, and it's definitely a trade off. Love to see ratings/reviews/pics if members have any.

Hi, I have had the Nighthawk Platinums installed since I bought my car in September 2012, and they are definitely brighter than stock, both as DRLs as well as high-beams. As high-beams, I feel like someone's turned on a floodlight. They are not however the same color as the light-bar, but for me my lightbar only comes on when the headlights are on.

I had my dealer install mine and they were careful to not touch the bulbs, so far so good with bulb-life. I would buy them again, especially now considering I drive on a lot more country roads than I used to.

Good info. What do you think of the DRL color? Still pretty "yellow" due to reduced voltage?

I don't see a big need for high beams, so has anyone tried LED's??

anxiously awaiting your response
I don't use high beams often, I am more concerned about how white they look when they are used as DRLs

me too

They are slightly more white, but they certainly don't match the bright-pure light of the light bar (but again, if I'm not mistaken, they're usually not on when the LEDs are on unless you have the high beams on).

I'll take some pictures in my garage...

(Edit) okay so clearly I'm mistaken; they light-bars ARE on when the daytimes are on; interesting! Still, I fear the Nighthawk Platinums aren't going to give you the look you desire. I'll upload the pictures in a few....

GE Nighthawks are great bulbs.

I just ordered up these today for highbeams: 65W Osram Ultra High Output (2100 lumen, H9 burner on H7 base

I hesitate to post this photo because it's deceptive; the yellow in the Nighthawks definitely shows up brighter than here. The garage and the daytime backlight makes things look "whiter" than they really are.

How did you get your light bar to turn on with your DRL's on? I leave my lights on "Auto" and my light bar only turns on when my headlights turn on. I've hunting on the forums to figure out how to get it to turn on with my LED bar while leaving my light switch on "Auto".

You can get the light bar to turn on with the drls by rotating the light switch to the parking lights or first detent, not when u have it set to auto.
