  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good afternoon. Earlier today I started my 15 Genesis 80K up. It took a full 2-3 seconds before actually starting up. The lights in the pic suddenly all lit up at once. None were on before, and I wasn’t having any issues before. When I put it in drive, the car seem to start rolling instantly. RPM wasn’t moving at all. Any advice or answers to this issue? Dealers are closed until Tuesday :(A9775B44-82CE-443A-BCA2-0D4993C5160A.webp

Your screen shot cuts off the tachometer. Is the car running? Does it drive normally?

It was currently in park. And it had a weird feel to it when I drove. As soon as I put it in park and let off the brake, it would just “GO”. Not accelerate on it’s on, but it wasn’t taking an easy roll. Hard to explain but it definitely didn’t feel normal. I didn’t drive over 30 MPH as well.

Have you popped the hood to see what's going on? Maybe something will be obvious. Check for loose cables or vacuum lines.

I know someone who had a similar experience, it turned out that rats had built a nest and his air intake.

Oh wow. And not yet, but I plan on doing that in a few hours actually

My old Infiniti did something similar once - it was one of the crank position sensors going bye - bye...

Lit up the dash like a Christmas Tree - Check Engine, traction control, the whole nine yards... Ran rough, wouldn't go more that 35-40mph. Guess it went into limp-home mode.
