Child locks

The rear drivers side passenger door will not open on my 2017 G80. The only thing I can think of is that the mechanical child door lock engaged, which is still highly improbable since it takes a screw driver to set it. But assuming it is set how do you unlock it since the setting button is on the edge of the door which you can’t get to when the door is closed. Thanks.

Child lock engaged you should still be able to open from the outside.

Can you get the door panel off with the door closed?

Door won’t open from outside either. All other doors work fine. Sounds like something mechanical inside door broke which seems strange. Not sure how to get inside door panel off especially with door closed. Hate to take to the dealer where they will charge me an arm and a leg but may have no choice.

Just had a thought. You are correct about the dealer charges. Arm, leg, maybe a few fingers from the other hand.

I'd try a body shop and ask about removing the door panel. Chances are, they have run into similar situation and maybe have a quick trick to pop it off.

If you put the window down it will probably be real easy to get to the latch and open the door for someone who knows how to do it.
