  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I finally received my chrome pillars and would like some input before attaching them. I believe that once I stick them on, it would be a mess to remove. Someone once mentioned that before "permanently" attaching them, they first did so with some temporary tape. Was this done so as a walk around to see if it was pleasing or did someone manage to drive around a while without them falling off? Please advise?

I'm the guy who put them on, didn't like them, and then screwed up the finish underneath trying to remove them. I'd suggest taping them in place (you could use a strip of electrical tape at the top/bottom of each piece) and looking closely in different light, etc. I found that - for me, anyway - it's just too much chrome. I was reminded of some old man's Buick or Lincoln, which was not the look I was aiming for. Luckily, the black covers from Kapastore on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...510279&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:OU:US:1123) covered the damage and look pretty good. See my album for some photos.

I think the car has just enough chrome. Does the V6 Tech have the ones on the bottom of the doors? I know the V8 models do. Chrome pillars is a little too much IMO.

My Cabernet car came loaded with E&J mesh grille, chrome side pillars and Genesis badges everywhere. At first I thought the car was a little bit much and that I was driving a car from "pimp my ride". However, after seeing several Jaguars and other luxury cars with the mesh grill and chrome side pillars, the look has grown on me and I have actually come to like it. Many old farts in parking lots have made comments like--OMG what is that; its gawjus. Anyway, I smirk and tell them its a Hyundai Genesis. My wife calls my car "The Hentley" i.e. a combo of Hyundai and Bentley.;)
