  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Cleaned & Waxed

I just got a black '17 G80 AWD. It's pollen season here in SE NC so I'll wait a few weeks before I get this thing looking shiny.
Be sure to clay bar your black G80. This Red one had a ton of pollen embedded in the paint.

That's why I get white. They look great when clean, not do bad when dirty.

You guys find anything better to use (easy to apply with good results) than Meguiar's Ultimate Wax?

I used to live in an apartment so I had to do rinseless washes with ONR. Using optiseal as a drying aid also doubled as a paint sealer and that is super easy to use. Also gave it a waxed look so I'm happy with it. I still do rinseless at my driveway at my new place due to the ease of rinseless washes.

Finally had some time to handwash my car today. Last time I did it was about 6 months ago. (Did a couple touchless washes between then and now).

My ghetto application of ceramic coating is still holding strong, water continues to bead off nicely!

I love the contrast between the dark chrome, the wheels, headlights, and windows from the bright Santiago silver.

SS color looks nice. Love that. You know you have a limited edition color sort of since it was only on first year editions. My MB guess the factory had surplus left over so it made it to 2020 cars. It works as a strong second choice for I stick out in parking lots.

I recall your posts showing the car at the Michigan dealer, a photo from the salesman there as the car was in the transporter and pulling away. Then the delivery in a parking lot somewhere near you 1500 miles later. Your walkaround and key and paperwork delivery. Then here we are. Your daughter, your G70, and your new son. Three babies. Life is so good for you. Tell your family you love them and whisper to your G70.

Looks really sharp @Toddasaurus! Did you black out the underside of your mirrors or did the Sport come that way?

I plan on plasti-dipping these same wheels in matte black on my Santiago Silver 3.3T. I think it's goona look great but we will see! Hopefully in the next couple weeks.

You need to drop it Todd!! I have the H&R springs. I'll post some pics when I wash the car.

Another pic I took today. With the overcast sky it really brings out the nice, glossy sheen.

Not to out shine Todd for I do love the SS color. Had it been a 2020 color I would have taken whichever my dealer got in first, SS or MB. Weather in DFW has been nice the last few days so wash and waxed mine while burning some vacation in anticipation of layoffs or furloughs. Some pretty dang good looking G70's we have!! I really like both the Mallorca Blue and Himalayan Gray, there is so much depth to the color. Very nice. Well done, gentlemen.

Lots of sweet looking cars in this thread! Representing the SS crew!
