If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, I couldn't help myself! I had to have Clear Bra installed as I had it on my previous vehicles and it not only protected them, but significantly enhanced my comfort level. No more rock chips.
After coating my car with 2 coats of Liquid Glass (best stuff in the world for black) I had the Clear Bra applied.
These pics show the entire front was done in Clear Bra, the back of the mirrors, the indentations for the door handles, all along the vertical door edges, the rear bonnet grab, and the loading deck of the rear bonnet.
One has to REALLY get close to see it.
If you are anywhere near Houston, and are considering having Clear Bra installed, see Chris Gilbert. He IS incredible. Not the cheapest, but simply the very best Clear Bra installer in the Great STate of Texas!Email me for his number.
Total Job WITH complete Window Tint- $800.:D

thats a great price, you need your wing emblem on the trunk ;) If the line on the hood every gets wax on it that is hard to remove, or any other lines of the clear bra I found that a qtip with a quick detailer spray does excellent to remove it. Takes a bit longer but the clear bra is even harder to see when there is no wax on the edges

you mentioned that you put liquid glass before the install. I def. know that this helps the whole car, but prior to install they clean the area of the installation with rubbing alcohol so remove any dirt or wax.

I def. would recommend to wax or use the liquid glass on the Clear Shield too though. You may already have.

Cheers!

liquid glass is actually what my installer recommended to use on the clear bra and it worked very well. And yes to get a proper adhesion of the clear bra they have to clean the entire area which includes removing the wax that you so lovingly applied :D

are there any downfaults of having a clear bra?
does it turn yellow over the years?
is it easy to remove?

I've had ClearBra on my last four vehicles and have found the only downside to be in the quality of the installers.
Fortunately, I've been using a guy in Houston who is a genius in working with this unruly product. Email me if you need his name and number.
No yellowing. I'm told it is easy to remove although I can't imagine why one would want to...other than in a fender bender.
The paint stays perfect underneath and best of all, NO ROCK CHIPS or door edge dings.
It's not cheap but for the peace of mind it provides, it is an incredible product!
And yes, I did get the rear wings. I have the front ones but cannot decide whether on not to put it on....
Any pics out there or suggestions?

I have had the 3m clear bra on three cars and it is a great product. Here in Arizona the rocks will mess your car up for sure, so you need something. My experience with clear bra installers has not been great, so i decided to do it myself this time. I ordered the invisimask product online, including hood, bumper, lights, door wells, and mirrors.

I spent the better part of an afternoon installing it. The provided instructions were very useful. The bumper and headlights were a bit of a pain due to all of the complex curves, but I won out in the end. The rest of it went on fairly easy. I ended up with a few bubbles in the bumper, but they provided a hypodermic needle to get rid of those.

I am quite happy with the way it came out, in fact it looks better than the job a pro did on my wife's Toyota Sienna. In total it cost me $288 and about 5 hours of my time.

With experience in tinting and installing the Clear bra, or Shield some call it; I find the 3M brand turns yellow over a small amount of time.

I have seen in person a car done and after 12 months the clear bra turned yellow.

This is especially noticable on a white car, but harder to see on other colors.

I would look into the ClearShield brand which I have used for a couple of years now, and it seems to be the most durable I've seen, and does not turn yellow even 5 years+ later.

If for any reason you would want to remove it, you can park the car in the sun for a couple of hours and peel the Clear bra right off the car or even do this without parking the car in the sun, but the shield will require more effort to remove, but still won't damage the paint.

all clear bra brands have the potential to yellow because of uv rays and other contaminents. If you take care of it and wax it when you normally wax the car you can prevent or at least slow the yellowing. If you don't wax at all or maintain it in any way I can see how it would yellow quickly

Okay, I am sold. Is there someone in the North Atlanta area that does this?
