  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking at quotes locally. Can G70 owner share what they paid? Please provide brand (Xpel, Sun Tek, etc), coverage (front bumper/quarter hood, mirrors etc), location and price.
I am getting quotes from $785 to $1100 for full front bumper, 1/4 hood and mirrors.

sounds about right. the 3m kit is around $300 the labor between $400-$600 depending on the shop.

I bought the precut kit off ebay, full fascia, 1/4 hood, 1/4 fenders, both headlights, both mirrors, 12 pieces total as I recall.

and had mobile tint shop come out to my house and install it, took the 1 guy around 7-8 hours to do it all.

Xpel. Full bumper/grill, and headlights. $700 Canadian or so installed. I have another thread on here somewhere with details.

IF you get chips on the bumper or hood it is cheaper to have them repainted than to spend $1000 for clear (that will discolor). In a past life when I ran a body shop we charged by the hour to remove that crappy looking clear bra stuff when folks tired of the yellow look. By the time you pay initially then again to have it removed when you tire of the yellow or hit something and need paint work it is just stupid IMHO. Besides that it looks like crap on your car even when new.

So far, I've had 2 cars Xpel wrapped. My 2015 Genesis Ultimate which I traded in for my present car and my Santa Fe that I presently own. My 2015 after 3 trips to Florida and back behind a multitude of trucks was traded in with a perfect front end not a scratch. No discoloration of any sort and undetectable to the untrained eye. That's why I got it on my Santa Fe which has now made 2 trips to Florida under the same truck unvested routes and it looks as it did when I drove it home in late 2016. That's why my new G70 is scheduled to go in for a complete front end wrap next week. Cost is $1200.00 it includes the complete front, hood, headlight covers and side mirror fronts. Only then can my beloved G70 tackle the grueling truck routes to Florida.

Any pics of it installed? I'm thinking of the eBay kit and then applying it myself.

Disagree with this, my opinion. The new stuff has to be much better, I have XPEL right now on the car and my only regret is that I didn't wrap the entire car lol. The purpose is to prevent and avoid chips and dings. It would probably scare the hell out of me to ask the cost to repaint the hood Siberian Ice or touch up a few dings and have everything match with the rest of the car. And, as soon as you left the paint shop you could instantly have a few more chips. I'd rather not see dings and chips every day as I "save" up for enough to warrant taking it to get painted , and then rinse repeat over and over. My 2 cents.

Did the best I could to show the seams. Disregard the dust, Gardener was just here and blew dust over everything.

Not sure if you already gotten this taken care of but here's a guy that appears to do real good work.

Looks good! Thanks for showing us pics. I think I'll end up getting the same set that you did. I'm a little hesitant to get it right now though because of the cold weather. I assume it will be more difficult to apply while cold...
