  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

My car's front wheels started making this weird "clicking" noises when driven in low speed. Sometimes noise disappear but returns later..

When driven in heavy rain the noise became more like "squeal"

My guesses are whether sticky brake pads or bearings???

If any of you have had same problem please share them here

Also, I am taking the car in later today to check on this; what can I expect from the service dept? Are they going to charge me for the initial check up too? I have never taken the car to the Hyundai dealership after purchasing it used.

Thanks and I will keep this updated when I return from the dealership later today

it was brake dust shield? being in the way of the rotors lol

Get rid of the sheilds and buy high quality pads and you won't have much of a dust problem. Also shields can make brakes overheat and fade in hard braking.

i think they are factory (oem, standard on all of ours)

I took the sheilds to be aftermarket dust ones that fit on the outside just behind the wheel, not the ones on the inside behind rotors that are stationary splash shields (not dust shields).

yeah, figured that. i had a noisy one before on another vehicle, so i knew right away what he meant. like you i would NEVER put those brake dust shields on any of my vehicles for the reasons you've mentioned..

oh no, yea tonygxp is right it is standard one that comes on the car. I just wasn't sure what the exact name was. Thanks for the input guys I am also glad it was easy fix!
