  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 15 3.8 awd and was re-torquing my tires when i noticed a clicking noise when i rock it back and forth. it appears to come from the rear driveshaft when it changes direction. Not sure if its normal on these cars or needs more investigation. No problems when driving.

It'll be the slack taking up in the pinion gear. It's normal to some extent, but once it gets bad enough to hear when the car is changing gears it's probably time to fix it.

Thanks, ya the car only has 30K kms on it so i was thinking something like that can't have been be worn out that fast. I mean my truck has a click when i rock it back and forth but it is a 1978. Never heard it on a newer car before.
