  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have this strange issue where there is a very noticeable clicking/pinging sound at 25mph on my 2015 Genesis. Some days it is a quiet sound that I barely notice and other days it is loud. I do not get it at speeds less that 22mph or over 30mph. I get it whether I am braking, accelerator, or cruising. I had it before and after getting the new tires put on and I had it before and after they fixed my sun window (broken clip causing creaking sound). I don't recall having it when I first got the car.

Sounds like it is coming from the right hand side of the car but that is the best I can do while I am driving.

Any ideas?

If you have AWD, I believe there are some other threads on that. Apparently it is "normal."

No - it is not "normal". I have not experienced any such noise in either of the G2 AWD's I've actually owned.

im not AWD and i hear it and so many people hear it too
its not a problem at all

Mine does the same thing, but at lower speeds when turning the wheel. Not a CV noise, coming from interior I think

i have AWD v6 and get a distinct clicking/hammering sound (almost like a very quiet jackhammer) at about 25mph only when cruising (letting off the gas, no braking). As soon as I touch the gas or brakes it stops. Coming from the right front corner. When I lower the right window to see if it gets louder, I can't hear it over the wind noise.

The noise is more obvious when the car is cold and just started driving and seems to get more quiet as the car warms up. It can be VERY faintly heard from probably 28mph down to 22mph, but is much more obvious as the car cruises and decelerates down to 25mph.

I guess I only notice it because I drive in slow stop/go traffic. If you drive on open roads or highways, you'd probably never notice this issue.

I hear the same thing and have been trying to figure it out the last few days. I can't tell if it is inside the car (like the passenger seatbelt latch hitting the B pillar) or outside the cabin. It is very faint but noticeable when the radio is low/off and the windows are closed.

Currently experiencing this sound on my '15 AWD. Wondering if there was a resolution to this? I thought it was stemming from my intake install until I check all connections and fittings and everything looked good.

It's really hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. I hear the sound constantly if I cruise at 25 mph (+/- 1 mph). It is more prominent on cooler days and shortly after a cold start.

Old thread but I have same issue, been going in for a couple of years now. Happens at exactly 26-29mph of steady driving.

My wife says it sounds like it comes from center dash area. Could it be the fan in the glovebox that is above the cabin air filter I wonder?
