  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was surprised when, after a couple of days, the clock in my G70 had not corrected for the recent DST time change.
I checked the menu settings and I had the GPS and DST boxes checked. Wouldn't you expect that to be correct?

Mine didn't change. But don't the DST dates change a bit each year ? Like one year it's November 3rd, another year it's the 4th etc.

Just UNcheck the DST box as we are not on DST now. Check it again next March. Not every state and every country uses DST so I guess it is better to do manually.

I waited an extra day also. You would think, having to set the Time Zone you're in and GPS enabled it would change automatically (my Caddy adjusted itself). Unless Congress changes it, always the first Sunday of November. Oh well, DST off until March.

Yeah...you select DST in the summer...deselect it winter. Always keep GPS on.

When you select/deselect DST...time does not change until you get out of that screen.

I literally did this 10 min ago.

Yes, that did correct it, but why should that be needed? The car knows where I'm located. I thought that was the whole point of having that check box. I don't remember having to do that with my previous car.
What's the point of the check box if I need to check and uncheck it every six months? My phone doesn't require that.

My alarm clock has a DST button as well. I just hit it to go to/from DST. The car is smarter...agreed. There must be reasoning behind it where folks want to manually control it.

At least you don't have to F with the time. Just check/uncheck.

For those who drive longer distances, does the clock change automatically when one crosses a time zone line? Lafayette to Gary Indiana is a time zone change, for example and 80 miles.
If GPS is selected...then yeah. Not proven by me though.

Not every state in a given time zone has DST. There are people that live in a sate on one time and work in a state with the other time in the same zone. It gives you the option of using the time that suites you best. Live in AZ but work in NV

But it doesn’t get data from your phone, nor does it ask you to set your time zone. You just check or uncheck the DST box. It gets the time from the satellite but not whether it’s a DST city/State. When places legislate on or off DST the don’t have to go and update your cars software. My Lexus was exactly the same.

I can set my Time zone.
