  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Every once and a while my 2022 g70 will randomly change the language in the center cluster. It always changes to Korean. It will happen out of the blue ,while driving or randomly at startup. It is easy to change back and it doesn't happen often, but its odd.

That's funny and messed up at the same time. I would confirm your settings through the touch screen if avail., and make sure everything is set to English. If that doesn't work maybe unhooking the battery and letting it drain, then reconnecting it may reset it.

And letting it drain?

All electronics have some capacitance built into to them, for stiffening the power rails and for filtering. What he meant is to let those capacitors drain down to 0VDC before reconnecting the starter battery. If you just disconnect the battery and reconnect right away, the internal capacitors might still keep the various systems alive and not reset properly.

As for OP's problem... I've seen a few owners post about this. I would hazard a guess that Korean is the default language, and the instrument cluster somehow reset itself back to default setting. Did any other setting(s) change, or just the display language?

I just experienced this as well recently, it was when I had my iPhone connected, and was using Waze. Once I unconnected it after I arrived, I looked and it was back in English. Very strange.

it was just the language

It just happened to me today for the 1st time. Took me some time to figure out how to change dashboard cluster (by speedometer) back to English. That part of the display was the only part in Korean (it looked like) - the rest of Display was still in English.
I had to go to General Settings and set the Language from English to Korean and then back to English. That did the trick

Just adding to this, and first post!!!

My 2022 g70 just did this as well for the second time in about 700 miles. I actually encountered for the first time on the test drive. Then it happened again today. Easy enough to change back, thank goodness the main display stays in English, but definitley a glitch.

I wonder if there's anywhere we can submit bug reports 🤔

I commented on this thread months ago saying it was odd buy funny, then of course it happens to me lol. Fortunately I knew how to fix it quickly bc it happened once prior, when the dealer gave me a new key fob. They had to do some sort of restart / battery reset, and upon getting the car only the center cluster language was in Korean. I discovered fixing it is simple - you go into general setup and change the language from English to anything else, then back to English. I haven't driven my car all week however, since we just had a baby. It sat in the hot sun for days. Finally, today, I washed it, and when I got in it was back to Korean. Took 5 seconds to reset, but weird nonetheless.

Another option is to learn Korean.

Something similarly weird happened to me today too. I had to delete my wife's profile, because it didn't have TPMS, digital speedo, etc., so I just put her seat/mirror/wheel settings on memory #2 under driver #1 (mine), which now I changed to just 'Genesis G70', instead of my name. And she couldn't get the garage door to open. I programmed the opener at dealer, when it was under driver #1, but 'paired' it to the garage motor when it was on #2. The weird thing is HomeLink was working perfectly, with the white house and green LED blinking. So I tried with the SUV, and it opened immediately, so I knew it was the car. I just 'paired' it again, and it seems to be working fine. But very weird too. Ha ha.

on your infotainment system go to your home screen. Select SETUP, then GENERAL, then LANGUAGE. Choose a language other than English, then click English again. Should make both that system and Cluster English again.
