  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got rear-ended this morning.

Anyone in the greater toronto area have any recommendations for a repair shop? I know genesis parts take a while, leaning towards a dealer for that reason.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My car was hit in the front. I chose the dealer since they had a body shop. My reasoning was all the electronics and sensors. I though if there was a problem, experienced techs across the driveway.

Took it to a local 'genesis certified' repair shop. Good people, confident repairs will be done properly.

It was a hit and run. Just wish I didn't have to pay my deductible. Oh well.

Hit and run??? I thought people in Toronto were nicer than that. 🤪😜

Ha. I've lost faith in humanity since it happened. Jackass had his son in the car too.

Sorry about your car. Our G70s are still new so probably no imitation body parts are out yet. Just be sure to tell the dealer you want all new OEM parts and no used or copy-cat parts. Insurance companies love to put used parts back on cars or imitation parts on vs OEM to save money. Generally speaking insurance companies must return your car to a ‘pre-crash’ condition. That has some subjectivity to it but I insist my car had no used parts or imitation parts when purchased new so it needs to be put back like that. Will help resale value too if you have receipts showing OEM parts were used vs counterfeit type parts.

Thanks. I have this thing called "new car protection" on my policy. Which requires them to use brand new OEM parts for repairs.

Both the agent and the repair shop mentioned it, so I should be fine. But yea like you said I doubt there are many used parts on the market anyways, so shouldn't be a problem.

Cars also graphene coated, need to get that figured out as well. Rear bumper is being replaced and quarter panel repaired. Will need to get those coated again.

i also was hit this morning (in Toronto), who did you go to and were you satisfied with the work?

Sorry to hear that.

I went to CSN Auto in Vaughan, the one on Hwy 27.

Their service was great and so was the work. I had one issue where the paint started peeling where it rubbed between the bumper and quarter panel, but they took it back, repainted, and even provided a loaner.

Generally been pretty impressed with CSN shops. They're also Genesis certified, whatever that means.
