  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

I'm planning to lease a 2016 Genesis 3.8 RWD before the G80s officially go on sale. I'm torn between Casablanca White over beige and Ibiza Blue over ivory. My father has a white/beige 2015 so I know I like that color combo, and I'm a bit concerned over the almost-white ivory interior that comes with the blue, as it would like be more susceptible to dirt or jeans stains. That being said, that blue is just a beautiful color, though I'm not sure if I would be tired of it or not after a three year lease.

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

I have the Ibiza Blue/Ivory and have received lots of compliments on the color combo - I have had random people roll down windows at gas stations to comment on the car and color. One guy asked to borrow it for to take out his date (never met him before, he was in a truck at a gas station).

Your concern about the dirt on the ivory is justified - mine shows dirt after just 5,000 miles, and I work an office job, not a dusty work site. I would have similar concerns about the beige though - grey or black are probably less susceptible to that particular issue. In my experience, cleaning the leather is a painless process though, provided you have the correct products and 5-10 minutes. I would always chose a beige/light interior over a grey/black, even with the cleaning issue.

I don't ferry young kids in my car, if I did I would think that the lighter interiors are probably less desirable.

I don't think I'll get tired of the color combo, other things about the car are more annoying to me after my few month of ownership ...

I was torn between Ibiza blue or white with the dark gray/black interior. The white looks great especially with the dark sunroof. In the end the Ibiza won me over because it was more unique.

I would suggest the blue because it is less common. I would warn you that the Ibiza blue shows dust and dark fairly quickly after a car wash. It's not an easy exterior color to maintain but I love the way it looks. I've had absolutely no blue jean stain issues with the ivory interior. You can't go wrong with either color.

White all the way !!!

I have Montecito Blue with Beige. I clean the leather about once a month. I will sometimes see a bit of indigo dye on the towel, although it's never been visible on the seats. By the way, I got the same transfer even on black leather, but you can't see it.

It's pretty easy to keep the seats clean. It takes about 10 min. I clean them with Zaino Leather Cleaner, and the condition them with Zaino leather in bottle, or Surf City Garage Voodoo Blend Leather Rejuvenator. It's similar to the Zaino, but less expensive.

I love the Ibiza blue but I love the ivory interior a whole lot less. The beige interior is by far my fave.

My general rule is that if I have the slightest doubt that I might get tired of a particular exterior colour, I pass. That doubt is my brain telling me I WILL get tired of it.

White looks great with the black pano roof.

I vote blue/ivory. White cars are so vanilla.

I have a Montecito/grey interior. I've had the white/tan loaner for a week. (and looks like I'll have it again for 2 weeks starting Monday) I have to say this car seems to show it's lines better with the darker colors. I got used to the white/tan, but then really loved my color combo when I got it back. Obviously it's all subjective, and you really can't go wrong with either.

Hey shredz44 I have same color combo Montcito/grey interior and also love it. I have the 6 cyc with AWD & Tech package. I think our color combo is very rare.

I've had my 2015 Genesis Ultimate (Casablanca White w/ Beige Interior) for 11 mos. The leather had held up remarkably well. I too had concerns about the leather showing color from my jeans, etc., but this has proved NOT to be an issue. I clean the leather on a regular basis with Meguires Leather Cleaner/Conditioner. I really like this product because, not only is it pretty much odor-free, but it is also very effective in cleaning the leather. And, it doesn't leave it looking shiny.

I wouldn't be concerned about beige. I'd be concerned about ivory. That stuff is practically white. I'm a carpool parent. Just no freaking way.
