Complete Power Loss On Takeoff

I'm having a problem with my 2022 G70 (3.3T AWD) that I'm hoping to get some help with. I've had the car about a year and a half now, and I love it! I haven't had any other issues with it besides this....when gunning it on takeoff the power suddenly just cuts out when the RPMs get higher, around 4k or 5k (recline is after 6k). It only happens in 1st (and maybe 2nd) gear, and definitely before the shift point. Its a bit of a jolt as the car slows and I have to let my foot off the gas and put it back to get back acceleration. The service techs thought it was because of low tire pressure, but after getting tires back to normal levels, no sensor, its still happening. Does anyone have any ideas? I appreciate it!

You in sport mode when you nail it or tried different modes? Any difference when paddle shifting manually on when it cuts out? Engine still stock and not chipped? If your not setting an engine code not sure the service guys are going to be a able to figure anything out unless you talk them into having a OBDII in live data mode while being driven to see if real time they can see why the engine computer is cutting things back? Almost like the engine is seeing a knock and retarding things to protect the engine.

Also, no difference in paddle shifting or Auto shifting. It happens before the shift point.

Turn off traction control, and see if it happens again. If no, then you have your answer . It's cold now, so very easy to lose traction, especially with summer tires. AWD vehicles are supposed to come with A/S tires, but it's still relatively easy to slip them with a powerful engine in cold weather. Good luck.

Even better than looking at live OBD2 data display when the power loss happens again... set up your OBD2 app (either Android or Iphone) to log data. Look for PIDs that would be indicative of what might be going on, like:

RPM
Engine load
ignition timing advance
Fuel trim
AFR, actual
AFR, target
IAT
Coolant temp
Boost Pressure
Intake Manifold pressure
O2 sensor(s) reading

Once you are able to catch one of more of these "events", download the data file(s). You should be able to open it with spreadsheet programs like Excel and graph the PID data. Then when you go to the dealer service tech, you'll have numerical data to back up your verbal descriptions.

My favorite OBD2 app is Torque Pro, which has data logger. I'm sure there are plenty of others that do as well. Pick one you like.

Sure. For $5 or whatever I paid for the Pro version, it has been very useful. Google's FamilyLibrary feature let's my son use it on his devices too. I even bought a few add-ons. Some more useful than others. The Kia/Hyundai add-on was kinda disappointing, but did add a couple of PIDs I didn't see on the standard list.

If you want specific compatibility, the OBDLink family of adapters are named by a lot of the mfr-specific tools. They are pricey though. I bought a FORSCan wired adapter for back when I owned a Mazda.

For general use, a generic OBD2 adapter works just fine. Bluetooth is obviously the most convenient. I've got USB cabled ones I haven't used in years. For BT, ELM327 compatible ones are the most popular. I've got two of these (cheap and effective):

Pretty sure it has transmission temp. I'm not sure if it was added after I loaded the Hyundai/Kia plug-in, but it was cheap enough I just got it after upgrading to Torque Pro.
