  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The reliability of the Genesis Intelligent Services app has gotten poor. Yesterday I called in to Support only to have them tell me to paperclip my infotainment system. The car started once after that. This morning I tried for 15 min to get my car to start but was only greeted with failures, timeouts, and server busy messages. The app is so slow that I had to wait 30 seconds in between actions. I force closed the app, rebooted, etc. There is great cell service here for all carriers - the app is the problem. I never did get the car to start or provide status.

I can see my car out of my window. It is 19 degrees. I just want to start my car, but there is no remote start function on the fob so I have to use the terrible app. This is hardly a luxury experience.

Also annoying, but you can try through the owners web site. Not sure if the results would be any different.
Since my car no longer has connected service I'm finding the aftermarket remote start to be far more reliable .

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
On a GV80 thread, a user called Customer Service and they told him it was a server end issue. Not the app. engineering is working on it.

They pushed a new version of the app today. Timestamp says it was updated overnight, but it wouldn't start my car this morning. I was just able to pull current status of the car successfully for the first time today. Maybe the server isn't overloaded right now.

I have a similar issue with my G70 while at work. I used to not have issues starting my car at work, then about 2 weeks ago, seemed about the time the whole PIN # debacle showed up my car quit connecting to remote start at work. Other areas, businesses and at home connection is just fine. It’s as if suddenly while at work I’m in a dead zone now that previously did not exist? I’ve call Connected services and given them car modem info specifics, what phone I use along with my carrier and they supposedly are having their technical weenies look into this. Really odd how an App update can cause connection issues at a specific geographic location that previously had none? If it wasn’t bad weather with freezing temps lately in the DFW area wouldn't be a big deal.

The app is crap; that's why I never use it, and won't pay a penny after it expires. After reading 'horror' stories here, tried unlocking the car with the app, and after 3 minutes, it was still locked. And it was outside, clear skies, and full reception. But app does show current status fine when opened. Weird issue.

No issues with mine except for surround view.

I'm confused by this post did your Genesis come with remote start? My 2022 G80 did and it's right there on the remote.

I have a GV80 and I have no issues with the Genesis app. I has worked each and every time. As @pbxBodyWorx said, I too have a remote start on my key fob and it also works.

Yes, my 2019 G70 came with remote start. They added a remote start button to the key fob in later years, but the 2019 is only able to remote start through the phone app. It's ridiculous.

How accurate is the app?
We have a 3 month old GV80
Started having battery issues and the app says “battery: caution”.
Genesis looked at it’d recharged the battery and said it’s fine however the caution is still showing on the app
