  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The highest battery status I have noted is 83% after a run of 45 minutes. This morning it was 75% so I hooked up my battery charger. The voltage at the jumper connections under the hood was 11.5v initially. I charged at 8 amps on agm setting for 1 and a half hours. After 30 minutes the voltage was 12.5v. After another hour it was 13.0v. The battery report on connected services shows 72%. I am at a total loss as to what these indications mean and if they have any significance. Do I have a battery issue? Cranking is immediate and the engine starts with no remaining warnings. Any clues? While charging, I locked the doors but connected services reported they were unlocked. The hood was open but the doors were locked.

On my 21 G90, I'm always between 66-71. No issues so far.

so I hooked up my battery charger.
If you think you have a problem, a battery charger is not a permanent fix. Odds are though you dont really have a problem. Lay off the battery charger.

I can't find that info on connected services, but from my computer. Where is it? Or do you need the phone app? I don't have it, nor want it, to avoid inadvertently authorizing freaking Hyundai to transfer my driving info to insurance companies. Also have 'driver score' turned off, so that should prevent transfer of my driving data, I hope. Weird thing is connected services is showing my mileage as 1,043,000, when it's 7,784. Need to double check the car again, but it should have that. The last time it showed my mileage in Km, but it was the equivalent. This time is bonkers wrong. Oh well.

when you have connected services open, click on 'see all' and when that box comes up, the battery status is in the upper right corner, sort of.

I recently noticed that on my GV70 (I don't have connected services on my G70.) I got a low battery notice. I didn't see that battery icon until days later. Vehicle did start right up though. Then I did find that icon. First time I saw it, it was at 70%. It stayed there for a few days. Then it popped to 75%. I had to take it in to the dealer for some service and asked them about it. They told me that for fuel consumption, the battery doesn't really charge while driving until it gets to some level (I was told 60%.) I've never heard of that, but took their word for it. That night when I got home I checked, since I had a long drive. The battery read... 225% !!!! huh? I just blew it off. So I just checked now, 2 days later, and it reads 83%.
So, although I'm pretty analytical about things, I'm kind of blowing this off. I may check it, now and then, but I won't take action based on that meter.

FWIW, we did leave it parked for about 3 weeks in February and had no issues starting it. Back then I didn't know about the battery meter. AND, I may have gotten that OTA update just before that low battery text/email was sent. I don't recall. But maybe that OTA drew down the charge? Not sure, but possible.

That's all I got. LOL
