  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Connected Services going away in December 2022

No upgrade path. Really!

Like the others I am also waiting for you to inform us with, what your research turned up. Thanks in advance.
The one that caught my eye initially is the Compustar CSX8900, All-in-one 2 way remote start + security bundle w/ LTE module. The local servicer who tinted my windows also installs remote starters and this one of theirs. I need to inquire on specific functionality, but this is what's listed on their website.
• 2-way remote start & security bundle
• Up to 1-mile range, 2-way LCD remote
• CM900-AS alarm start control module
• 105+dB alarm siren
• Dual-stage shock sensor included
• Now bundled with Drone X1-LTE
• Free 30-Day Premium Trial

The DroneMobile (premium) plan includes GPS Car finder, Speed Monitoring, Curfew Monitoring and Maintenance Reminders.
It's a subscription plan starting at $11.99/month. I was paying $20/month for Connected Services.

I was already looking for an alarm solution as there is like a ridiculous increase in car thefts in my state, almost exclusive Kia and Hyundais with push to start.

This is a pisser. Hoping my 2020G70 will be OK and it has LTE and not 3G? My wife has a 2018 CX-9 and was not happy when Mazda told her she was no longer going to have 3G support and remote start capability. Can’t believe car manufactures did not know this change-over was looming just several years down the road. Seems more auto manufacturers could have made a plug and play replacement modem to upgrade to LTE had they wanted too.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Yesterday I called Genesis customer service. I specifically asked about the remote start. She told me that I will still be able to use the key fob to start the car remotely. She stated that the subscription pertains only to the smart phone application and NOT to the key fob. Was she wrong? Note: I don't own a Genesis yet but I'm considering it..

Yes, the smart key remote start will still function on the recent Genesis models that have that, but most of those are new enough that the app will probably still work too, since the new ones are not 3G.

2020 G70s did not yet have key Fob remote start ability. My 3.3 sport has pretty much every option available on it at that time. The App offers a lot of convenience features, to me the biggest being remote lock/unlock and remote start while still at a football game and just starting the long walk to the car. Fob starting won’t provide a 1/2 mile away start generally.

Thanks. That makes sense. I'm actually considering the SUV 2022 GV80. The agent told me that if I didn't want to renew the subscription I can use the key fob...I think from a range of 50 feet.

This is ridiculous! I'm pissed!

Not much at all. My last aftermarket remote claimed 1/4 mile. If the car was parked outside my house 50 feet is acceptable. At the grocery store I've have to almost be at the car to start it. Useless.

354 days until you find out where you stand!
I don't want to assume anything incorrect, but my 2019 Multimedia manual does list LTE in the table. It's the 8" screen in the base model.

I didn't get the email. Maybe I'm not affected after all?

I agree! I usually park as close as possible to the door of the grocery store, so maybe 50' would be sufficient.

To me remote function isn’t as useful in the winter, because it puts the temp at 72, which isn’t warm enough in the winter time. An issue for anyone else?

Nope. I use 72 in summer, 70 in winter. I'm also going to be wearing a jacket so that is plenty warm. I keep my house at 68 to 70 in winter.

Oh wow, cooler in the winter, I’d be freezing! Lol I have kiddos and I mainly use the remote start feature to warm up my car in 50 below weather before I bring the kiddos to the car, and 72 always seems to shoot out air and not heat.

Until the engine and coolant are up to temperature the air coming out will not be warm no matter the setting. At 50 below, that will take some time.

My 20 G80 Sport allows 74°, but not warm enough with a 10 minute max duration.

You know what...I called them again to confirm. This time another agent said the range of the key fob is 32 feet!! That's beyond ridiculous.

Interesting, my app lets me go to 81+.

But what difference does it make if it's all going away in December!
