  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm coming up on 18 months of owning my 2010 3.8 and have loved every mile. I have an opportunity to pick up a '12 R-Spec with lower miles than mine, for a great price. Pro/Cons (if any) going to the R-Spec?

Thanks in advance, Jason.

2012 was first year for the 5.0 V8. You can read this forum about any problems that members have had with that engine in 2012.

Stiff ride, maybe? Less mileage per gallon of gas? Other than that - I can't really think of any disadvantages...

Some of the early 2012 5.0 R-Spec engines have had oil consumption problems. Some of them were replaced or repaired under warranty. There are a lot of threads/posts about the problem.

If you can swing it, pick up an extended warranty and drive the hell out of it :D

I like a paid off car best of all.

I'm going to see if they can transfer the balance of my HPP Platinum wrap to the R-Spec. That would be ideal. And the R-Spec is CPO as well

Is it the 4.6 or the 5.0?
