  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I currently have a 2013 r-spec. I love the power and look of the car, but the longer I have had it, the more rough the ride is feeling.

I plan on getting the v8 in whatever I end up with.

First, regarding the adjustable damper suspension.
I read that the 2015 has an adjustable damper that significantly softens the ride, but they got rid of it for 2016.
I like the idea of a stiffer suspension when I want it, and a softer one for most of the time.
How do you guys like it? Has it been problematic? Too soft/too hard?
Is the 2016 a more comfortable car without it?

Secondly, have they fixed the tremendous lag between stomping your foot and the car going? I have counted two seconds delay sometimes before the car will downshift and start to accelerate. It is almost scary how slow it is to start moving. Once it has down shifted and started accelerating, it is really powerful.

Honestly, if they have not fixed the acceleration issue, I will probably look to another model that is more responsive.

Thank you guys for any and all insight you can give me in comparing the gen 1 and the gen 2

Have no idea the 2 second accelerator lag you speak of. I do not have that issue.

The CDC suspension is hard to gauge - it can decrease body roll, however it never feels "stiff". Since Sport mode also tightens the steering and remaps the accelerator input and shift points, it is hard to really gauge the suspension changes. No sure of the Normal mode is softer than a non CDC car. In Normal mode, the car feels fine to me and I leave it there 90% of the time. The downside is that Sport mode also comes with shift points that are not well placed and are for more straight line 0-60 stuff at best. If the CDC and accelerator mapping could be separately controlled in a Sport mode setting, it would be more useful.

+1 to what Ksoze said. I prefer the handling of the car in sport mode, but don't want the fuel-economy hit, so I too drive around mostly in ECO and then switch to sport when I want to tighten things up a bit.

I must be in the minority. With the exception of inclement weather, I always enable sport mode.

Nah man it's all good. It's designed to be used; no harm in using it!! :D

This is good info, i drive a freeway daily that is under construction and some of the bumps you hit at highway speed are pretty jarring. I am no wimp by any means, but I want to be comfortable when commuting. I never plan to race, honestly i like my v8 because it is so much fun to punch it on on ramps, or when you need that extra oomph for passing

The suspension stiffens up considerably in '15 sport mode, you'll definately feel more bumps vs. Normal mode.

Onramps are like a mini Autobahn. Always good to blow out the carbon buildup.

I also prefer the Sport mode, but don't like the shift points. I wish sport mode could be selected without changing the shift points.

I have also experienced this lag with 3.8 in my test driving. This is a deal breaker to me. 5.0 has no lag issue however.
