  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If you search my posts, you'll see a post regarding a clear coat paint peel on a 2017 G80 Prestige. I've tried to get a resolution on this since 2021 only to be told that GMA will only warrant paint for 3/36. My actual warranty is a 10yr/100K. A week ago Friday I had a case number that was escalated to the SE Regional Consumer Affairs team. As of this Friday I am still waiting for a call back. That's 7 days. You can trade emails, reconnect with the cust svc 800# and leave messages but there's no way to connect with the person handling your case. I had a firm committed for a call back for Thursday. Cleared my calendar and nothing. I'm one step away from taking this to COO Claudia Marquez. Does anyone have a suggestion on how best to get the simple courtesy of a call back? It's a 100% total disrespect of my time.

Good luck contacting her, I didn't have any luck. They always say you'll hear back in 5-7 days 😡
Good luck.

At the end of the day they are not a luxury brand. Just Hyundai mentality and treatment with a different hood ornament. I called my dealer for an oil change.....I was told 3 weeks for an appointment. I confirmed I didn't need concierge service, just a drive up and wait. Service tech says if I wanted concierge service that would be 7 weeks out. Are you kidding me?

How do you have a 10/100 warranty on paint? The rest of us only get that on the powertrain. Do you have an extended warranty that ocvers it? If so, you may be talking to the wrong people.

Some components are more limited in their coverage, including the following:
  • Battery: 3 years or 36,000 miles
  • Air conditioner refrigerant charge: 1 year, no mileage limitation
  • Radio and sound system: 5 years or 60,000 miles
  • Paint: 3 years or 36,000 miles

I don't have 10/100 on paint. Just like you 3/36. If I had better than 3/36, it would have been fixed.

3/36 is common in the industry. Good luck with your expectations, but I don't see where you have a valid claim.

So what sort of resolution are you expecting for something that is out of warranty? Genesis has no idea what happened to the car 4 years after it was new.

Not sure. Per 3 experts and 2 dealerships, It's a manufacturer defect in the original painting process. Same thing is happening on the rear bumper and it's unsightly. If you're a luxury brand, you should stand up to the defect. It started after 3 yrs, but because of the in service date it fell out of warranty by a few months and Genesis washed there hands. I guess I'm not one to give up. Treat this like a luxury car and not a Hyundai. Why should I take the financial hit for something that's doesn't appear to be any fault of the owner.
