  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got around to reading my current issue of CR. For EV SUVs they still rate the GV60 as the top rated model.

Maybe some potential buyers will pick up the sales. With one exception I can't fathom why anyone would select the Electrified GV70 over the GV60. The one exception is if the individual had a storage requirement that could barely fit in the GV70 but not in the GV60.

For my needs, the GV60P is still the best model (a similarly configured Porsche Electrified Macan would likely top it because of the better handling in the twisties but it would cost twice as much and the GV60P is not inexpensive).

I do like the looks of the GV70 better but you cannot configure the eGV70 like you can the ICE. In addition, I do not need a larger vehicle but the price for a lease was very close to the GV60.

I also saw the latest the CR ratings. The GV60 had been on sale in California since 2022. We are going into 2026 soon. Since 2022 CR had always given the GV60 a good rating and even with that, the sales had never really picked up. It would be nice if they sold more GV60's but I still I have my doubts. But then again, you never know... I agree with your thoughts as to the Macan EV. My neighbor just bought a 2026 Macan S. It's a nice SUV!

I concur with the posts here. My issue with any of the VW/Audi/Porsche EV variants is that they are not an EV from the ground up like the E-GMP platform cars. That means the huge intruding transmission tunnel still invades the cabin space and that’s just the most visual/space impacts. Besides they are way overpriced once you add-in almost any options.

I was attracted to the GV60 precisely because of the engineering and EV-based design. Love the car, but sadly the company has not made any real progress keeping me as a long-term purchaser. We’ll see.

Happy travels.

love the car, still, but based on my experience with service after the sale (lacking, overpromise underdeliver) i'd likely not buy another one. which is a bummer, as the car itself really is great.

Oh don’t even get me started on service (or lack of it) from day ONE to this week when my GV60 was in for recalls and general maintenance. Example this week.

1. Service manager REFUSED to check the 12v batter condition (even though it was clearly listed on the email from GMA for required regular maintenance saying “it would take him an extra day b/c they had to take everything OUT OF THE TRUNK to get to the battery!!” WTH? I’ve had charge that stupid 12v batt from the day I took it home (b/c of dealer neglect) and several time since! It’s in the FRONT by the frunk. When, I politely pointed out where the 12v batt was he said I was wrong and he knew these cars well. And this was the service manager! So NO batt condition check.
2. While they got most everything done (including the windshield trim - which they finally admitted that they Don’t have to order once the car was in the service bay), it was about 1h 45mins. However, to release the car I had to DECLINE the $179 “sunroof drain cleaning service” I pointed out that there is NO SUNROOF on these cars and no such drains to get clogged!
3. They used to video the final service comments from the tech and text you that short video (aka BMW servicing). Not any more. Why? I guessing b/c they get caught too many times flubbing or messing up.

It’s a very nice shinny new Gen only dealer, but once again GMA has NOT invested in these cars or their sales/servicing.

I was polite (no reason to burn bridges) and thanked them, but I hope I NEVER have to get this car serviced again before I trade or sell it (oh brother, that’s not going to be a happy day $ wise ;-).

Enjoy the journey.

My wife has a BMW. She's definitely never gotten a video from a service tech. That does sound like a great idea if anyone offered such a service (which I have never gotten from Genesis either).

I get one from my Subaru dealer! I think many dealers are doing it now for their own self protection--to prove they did the requested work and also to prove dents, etc were there when you delivered the car to them. In other words, as much out of self interest as to "demonstrate" that they care about the customer. But I do find it helpful especially for services you cant "see", like new spark plugs.

That is truly pathetic.

Its the only competitor whose "aura" and panache compare to the Genesis.

It's nice, but I can't see paying $20-30K extra for one vs. the GV60!

I just did a minimal build on a Porsche Electric to try to make it comparable and it came out to $102K or as you predicted about $30K more than a GV60 Performance. Is the Porsche better...yes. But is it 71% better?

AND figure 1.5x on cost of insurance, parts, maintenance forever. Still, for those with money to burn, or leasing on company's nickel....

I get one from my BMW dealer. It is a good idea in principle but they make up stuff to try and get you to spend money. They tried to tell me my tires needed to be replaced at 5/32nd which is absurd. It was a lease at the time and the lease paperwork specifically stated the vehicle needed to be returned with 2/32nd or more and I was only a few months out of returning the lease.
