  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis 2016 - when I went to make a call this morning, it said there were no contacts. I tried (in the car) to download but it said there was nothing to download - so - my gremlins are out because yesterday it worked just fine. How do I correct this issue?

When I had that problem with my 2015-2G, it turned out that my phone was "pairing" correctly because it was already "paired" with my watch. My phone won't let me do both. I have to put my watch on airplane mode for the phone to pair to the car.

What phone and watch was that? It really shouldn't be a problem. You should be able to pair multiple bluetooth devices. My Pixel 2 XL and Huawei watch and Android Auto are all paired and when I play music or navigate, I get that on my watch as well as the HU of course.

In fact, my problem is slightly reverse. Almost every time I get into the car, it prompts me that the contacts have been updated and do I want to update them. I have no idea why it thinks my contacts have been updated and why it keeps asking me to update them on the car. Even if it incorrectly thought that they had been updated, it should just have updated them without the prompt. One of these days, I'll get sufficiently annoyed to track it down.

I have an old Motorola G Play phone, so probably not technically able.

If your using Android (a newer one) you have to give permissions for the bluetooth device to access your contacts. I had same issue, once permissions set, it downloads. Now my issue is some contacts are missing, which I haven't solved yet.

Is this an Ultimate? Otherwise I don't see a need to upload my contacts since I use AA. In fact, I'd prefer not to upload my contacts at all.

Mine is an Ultimate.
