  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got the rears first due to the originals being too far down and one being plugged already.
Initial impressions are that the tires are very compliant(softer sidewall, more profile depth), going into a turn you can feel them 'setting' which feels as if they are low on air. No sliding, but an akward weight transfer feelig.
Grip seems to be greatly enhanced even on gravel, so the next winter should be no problem.

One nuisance is that they smell (hate the new tire smell) and stink up the garage...

Anyone else here with those tires?

Thanks for posting this. I am considering these tires when my currents are gone. How are they from a noise perspective. I have always found previous Conti's to be fairly noisy.

Right now i have only the rears and the ride is weird. The fronts are really hard and responsive while the rears seem very soft on the sidewall which leads the car to 'swing' a bit and feel really nervous. Once the fronts are on I hope the ride is more controlled and neutral. With the current mix it doesn't feel balanced at all.
Not loosing grip, but way too much compliance.

I increased the pressure from the tireshop set pressure of 35 to 40 last night and this makes a huge difference. You can still feel the softer sidewall but the swaying is greatly reduced. I'll play with pressures a bit more to find the best setting. 35 psi is definately too low for this tire.

Replaced the DWS with Yokohama Envigor's

Couldn't get the front DWS's, discounttire took the rears back and got me a set of Yoko's . So far the tires impress with a mix of ride quality and handling. The OEM tires were too stiff, the DWS way too soft (sidewalls).
Glad I got the Yoko's.
DWS have lots of grip in bad weater, but if you cant get the fronts...

Fought the good fight

We are requesting a replacement set of tires for the following reason. My wife and I purchased a 2010
Hyundai Genesis 4.6 from your establishment in Feb 2010. Soon thereafter, we noticed a knocking noise coming from the front passenger side suspension. Hyundai maintenance repaired this issue. I also couldn’t understand why the rear tires only had 5/32 of tread on the rear tires when we bought the vehicle. We let that issue go because our past experience with other car dealers has shown us that once we make the purchase, they no longer care. In the mean time, I noticed premature wear to the inside of the tires. I have rotated the tires every 5000 miles but the tire noise got to the point that I had to replace the tires at 12500 miles. Very soon after replacing the tires, we brought the car to you for a four wheel alignment. We still had tire noise after the alignment and we advised your maintenance department of two issues, that the steering wheel was not straight, and the tire noise. Maintenance rechecked the alignment and said that the vehicle was not out of alignment, even though the steering wheel is not straight. Over time, a knocking sound started again in the same area as it did when we first purchased the vehicle. This time maintenance found a problem with the suspension in which parts had to be replaced. Now, I’m left with a bad set of tires that we paid $1100.00 for with only 18500 miles on them. These are 45000 mile tires. We both drive very carefully because we love our Hyundai and would like to keep it but our experience has been constantly marred by this particular issue. It is very depressing to think that I may have to purchase yet another set of tires on a car that we have not owned three years yet. Please help.
Results: the owner of Hyundai of Clarksville and the service manager agreed to replace my tires, no charge. I'm going with the Nitto Motivo tires. Does anyone else have these tires? I decided to go with them instead of the Conti tire because motor trend and car & driver rated the Nitto Motivo as the better tire. Thread life is 60,000 miles.
