  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchased a wrecked 5.0 with 1365 miles and am in the process of converting to a pick up. I have a sheet metal fab shop so will be using mainly diamond plate or treadbrite for bed. Welcome any comments re the reinforcing the rear end of care since all body structure removed and the height of the strut towers which is an issue. Car damage was pretty much restricted to rear end but I have had to purchase a new bumper cover, center radiator support and hood.
Located all used at salvage yards. Will attempt to include some pics. Lee

This I gotta see. You have any renderings?

I mean, I am interested and all but why?

I'm very excited. Is it the first or second generation Genesis sedan? I think it would work well with the first generation to make it look like a Holden Ute. I love the Holdens

I will attempt to upload a couple of pics. Have removed all structure from rear of front seats except the floor pan and suspension. In process of enclosing "truck cab" and then onto the bed fabrication.

I always think of putting these big V8 drivetrains in lighter vehicles. I loved my Chevy 5.3, Toyota 5.7 and now the Genesis 5.0. Cut 1500+ lbs off the weight of a Genny and it will fly! So get some pictures up here already....

How are you engineering the pickup mod to keep the proper torsion rigidity and to meet DOT requirements?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'll post a video clip how to add, resize and post links of a picture. Just give me 10 min.

You can navigate to any picture and/or just drop it onto their website, it doesnt matter.....you can actually add bunch of pics at the same time and resize them one by one.

don't forget to click "Enter" after you resize the image, then click "save" after each.

Make sure those picture are ~1200x whatever

I hope that helps a little ;)

Oh my, half a Genesis with a fancy tool box screwed onto the back. Is it street legal?

Considering you're in the metal fab business, it's a great way to show off your talents, advertise your product and drive a Genesis at the same time. Look forward to seeing it when it all finished up.

Just gonna revive thread because OP has finished and is selling the vehicle. Quick search of Genesis sedan truck yields multiple journalist articles on the vehicle. Not exactly what I envisioned but interesting none the less. Was hoping for a ute.

This thing looks horrendous. Lol.
I was getting close to getting it done and just ran out of steam (77 with COPD). I stuck a "bed" on it and have it listed on ebay under 2015 Hyundai Genesis. Take a look if interested.

Yeah um, wow.

........will this sell even?

Still, props to OP for pulling this off.
