  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know this has been discussed before but I cannot figure out how to search for it. What coolant type does a 2011 Genesis take. Car has 126,000 miles on it and coolant needs a change. I know Hyundai makes green and pink types. Has any body used any aftermarkets? Any help is appreciated.

My 2010 uses the green stuff specified for Asian vehicles (not the general-use "old type" green coolant), if that helps. Maybe stick a paper towel in the radiator fill neck and see what color the paper towel turns to, if you can't find out any other way?

Also, I can't figure out how/where the Search function is on this site, either! Maybe I'm just blind, but can someone point me to where the "Search" button/tab is located here? I would be grateful.:)

@jep604 , Interesting. That box isn't even showing up for me. No box, no magnifying glass, nothing labeled "search", zip, zero, nada. Any idea why that would be? It doesn't show up on my phone browser, either...

Also, @jeffdickstein , there are a number of aftermarket coolants that essentially claim to work "in any car anywhere", but I haven't researched them enough to know how accurate that is. Some coolants have different additives mixed in than others, and I don't know how big of a deal that is, either.

Never mind, the Search box is apparently hidden if you view the site with an ad blocker...

I think it was a search engine issue according to Sal. I became a "sustaining member" and mine works. $20 per year is a small price to pay for the knowledge I pick up on the website.
