Hey All,
First time posting here...
I am having an issue dealing with my local genesis dealer and would like insight from anyone on here on how I should handle this. I recently noticed corrosion on the passenger rear wheel well (on the arch, behind the door) and phoned my local dealer to have this inspected and determine a path forward on a repair (corrosion warranty is 5 years as I understand it)
Upon inspection I was told this would in fact be covered, but getting to the point of having the repair completed seems to be a hassle. The service advisor has informed me that he is going back and forth with Genesis corporate on getting this repair covered, and that they are not agreeing with the cost of this repair. I was told that this would mean replacing the panel, which looking at it...I don't see any visible seams and this sounds like a massive job to do. It seems as though the dealership has been asked to quote this repair at other Genesis locations in the interest of having the repair done cheaper.
This concerns me as I want this repair to be done properly and don't want this rust coming back at a later time. I'm not really getting anywhere with the dealer, they keep telling me it's taking time and a lot of back and forth but no word on how we will proceed. I'm pretty disappointed to say the least, this seems like a pretty cut and dry case that needs to be covered under the warranty, and the fact the the repair is expensive is not something that should be preventing this from getting fixed.
Would appreciate any insight on what I do next, I am quite shocked this is happening on a 2022 vehicle and for the cost of the car, this service is not really living up to expectations.
