Cost of OEM Key Replacement

Hey Folks,

did anyone replace the OEM smart key for their genesis g80, i think i lost mine and am currently with one key, so just looking to see if i should go with a dealer for this or buy something from online and have the dealer program it.!

would appreciate the inputs and if possible how much did it cost you to replace the OEM key.

Generally, if you don't have 2 keys, the dealer has to reprogram the keys, and they have to take extra steps to reprogram the key. If you have 2 keys and want to add a 3rd, it is much easier.

Talk to a locksmith. Some can program them. A friend bought one for her Audi. Dealer price $1000, locksmith price $600.

Yikes. I am about to take my car into fix the recalls and was going to ask them. I was going to use a locksmith local but I heard Genesis fobs were finnicky, plus because I already have a mykeypremium installed that turns the existing fob into a remote starter. Damn dealer in GA only gave me the one fob when I bought it at 50k ish miles a while ago.
