I picked up my V6 with Tech package last night! I wanted the black exterior, and ever since I had seen the first pictures from Hyundai of the black interior with the brown leather trim, I had fallen in love with it. I think it has a very cool look, and so different from the typical all black interior.
My company leased the vehicle for me. It was a very interesting process talking with various dealers here in Virginia and getting quotes from them. The terms were $5000 down, 36 months, and 15,000 miles. The MSRP is $40,000 for the Tech package as you know.
The biggest dealer in my town has marked up all their Genesis vehicles by $1,500. They haven't sold very many. For the lease terms described above, here are the quotes I got: $673 (from the guys with the markup), $566, and $544.
When I finally found the black/black vehicle I wanted at Fairfax Hyundai, I was pleased to find that they openly supported the HFMC advertised lease specials. Our deal was for $39,000, and a $500 rebate from Hyundai brought it to $38,500. The payment is $512. I had them fax me all the paperwork the day before, and I confirmed that the numbers were correct and there were no hidden fees. There were no surprises, no add-ons, and I couldn't believe how smooth and easy the purchase process went. Since I live 2 hours away, I'll be getting service from a different dealer, but I am extremely pleased with the deal -- $160 per month less than a quote from another dealer!
I drove and researched many cars before getting the Genesis, as I've posted before. If this were really an Azera in disguise with a bunch of features added I wouldn't have been interested. But I'm impressed with the design, the engineering, the roominess in the cabin, AND the great feature package in this vehicle. I simply couldn't find a better value for the money.
One of the things I really like about the car is how quiet it is. It really is a pleasure to drive. It is going to take me a couple of weeks to figure out how to work everything. But on the 2-hour drive home with my wife, we loved the comfort, the quiet, and man did I love that sound system! The HD radio and the satellite channels sounded great, as well as the music CDs. I'm going to pick up the Eagles DVD that BaywayRic recommended. I'm anxious to give that a try.
The other company cars at the office are Mercedes, BMW, Acura, and Lexus. I can't wait to pull in with my Hyundai!
