  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I picked up my V6 with Tech package last night! I wanted the black exterior, and ever since I had seen the first pictures from Hyundai of the black interior with the brown leather trim, I had fallen in love with it. I think it has a very cool look, and so different from the typical all black interior.

My company leased the vehicle for me. It was a very interesting process talking with various dealers here in Virginia and getting quotes from them. The terms were $5000 down, 36 months, and 15,000 miles. The MSRP is $40,000 for the Tech package as you know.

The biggest dealer in my town has marked up all their Genesis vehicles by $1,500. They haven't sold very many. For the lease terms described above, here are the quotes I got: $673 (from the guys with the markup), $566, and $544.

When I finally found the black/black vehicle I wanted at Fairfax Hyundai, I was pleased to find that they openly supported the HFMC advertised lease specials. Our deal was for $39,000, and a $500 rebate from Hyundai brought it to $38,500. The payment is $512. I had them fax me all the paperwork the day before, and I confirmed that the numbers were correct and there were no hidden fees. There were no surprises, no add-ons, and I couldn't believe how smooth and easy the purchase process went. Since I live 2 hours away, I'll be getting service from a different dealer, but I am extremely pleased with the deal -- $160 per month less than a quote from another dealer!

I drove and researched many cars before getting the Genesis, as I've posted before. If this were really an Azera in disguise with a bunch of features added I wouldn't have been interested. But I'm impressed with the design, the engineering, the roominess in the cabin, AND the great feature package in this vehicle. I simply couldn't find a better value for the money.

One of the things I really like about the car is how quiet it is. It really is a pleasure to drive. It is going to take me a couple of weeks to figure out how to work everything. But on the 2-hour drive home with my wife, we loved the comfort, the quiet, and man did I love that sound system! The HD radio and the satellite channels sounded great, as well as the music CDs. I'm going to pick up the Eagles DVD that BaywayRic recommended. I'm anxious to give that a try.

The other company cars at the office are Mercedes, BMW, Acura, and Lexus. I can't wait to pull in with my Hyundai!

Coug... Got to love getting a great deal AND a smooth hassle-free closing.

Let us know how it goes at the company parking lot!

Congrats on the new car. Please posts some pictures asap.

Congratulations, Coug! Do post some pictures when you find time.. But think about this one.... Take a picture of your Genesis next to all those other luxury cars at your office. :) It'll blend right in so nicely...

Coug, I wonder if I can get that price on a sale? You said that it was the HFMC advertised lease price of $39,000. Where can I find info on that deal? I might have to go down to the Fairfax dealership to negotiate a sale with those rebates, maybe even lower.

Fairfax advertises their online price for the V6 Tech as $39,000. I didn't push them hard to get below this. The HMFC advertised lease deal apparently comes with a $500 rebate, making my purchase price $38,500. I don't think there is a rebate for purchases.

I"ll bet you can negotiate a better price than the $39,000 with them on a sale. It is an interesting dealership. It must have relatively low overhead. There is nothing flashy or fancy in their facility; their office/showroom is a tiny building with room for only one car in it (a Genesis!), and the location isn't the best. But they move alot of cars.

If you PM me, I'll give you the name of the salesman I worked with. I was pleased with him. Good luck!

Coug: Congratulations!! I just leased my Genesis but, I went for the Black/Saddel combo with the Tech.

Only one dealer in Miami had a Tech. Pckg. with Black/Black, but then, the salesperson from Rick Casey Hyundai at Ft. Lauderdale told me he had the Blk/Saddle and so I went to see it and fell in love.

I should be posting the photos of the interior and the car tomorrow for anyone that has not seeing the Blck/Saddle combination.

Flex -- Congratulations on your new vehicle! I haven't seen the saddle interior in person, but I'll bet it looks very sharp with the black exterior. One of the things I really like about the black interior I have are the saddle color leather accents on the dash and doors. I'm looking forward to the photos!

Coug: Thank you, and yes, the Black with the Saddle looks quite nice. I will try with to post photos of the inside, also of the "Wing" emblem hubcabs and the "Wing" emblem on the trunk.

It really gives the car a classier look - as if that is possible!

Take care.

Flex59 is that your Jag XF in your photobucket? If so how do you like it? It looks beautiful also.

Coug -

How did it go in the company parking lot... ?

It's been interesting. I think some of the guys are ignoring it. I'm still waiting for them to say something, but almost universally, everyone who sees it says, "Wow, that is a nice looking car." Some have said it looks like a Lexus, some think it looks like a BMW. So far no derogatory "Hyundai comments" from those who have seen it!

Jerrad: The Jag is a 2009 XF Turbocharge. It belongs to my cousin and we took the photos of his Jag and my Genesis together.

He absolutely loves it, is a beautiful car inside and out. It has the same equipment as my Genesis w/Tech. Pckg, but for $25,000 more.

How does the Gen compare to the Jag in terms of ride and handling?
