Hi I have gotten a new 3.8 coupe black in manual. As I was new at manual I had my friend pick it up from the lot for me since the dealer was by a busy intersection.
After we brought the car home i practiced driving it around but both me and my friend noticed that there would be some kind of cranking sound whenever the gears were changed. I thought it might be just me not shifting properly at first but I had 2 other friends in the car with me and it would still make a sound when my experienced manual driving friend changed gears too even during the inital pick-up.
My friend said the gearbox should not be making any kind of sound when shifting or at least the sound my car was making (kind of like gears rubbing against each other or something but not like a forceful shift without clutch as I have already heard the difference between the two...)
Have any of you guys experienced this or have your gearbox been quiet?
