  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A few weeks ago I bought a 2011 4.6 with about 15K miles on it. It was a CPO (Certified Pre Owned). Supposedly it was to be given a thorough inspection to be classified as a CPO. So far I have had to take it back for a tire rebalance and on another visit back for alignment. I am skeptical about the thoroughness of the CPO program but optimistic. This only makes me wonder about the navigation system being updated.

Should the navigation system be updated under the CPO program standards?

Each manufacturer has their own rules regarding what a CPO vehicle is. There are no government regulations for CPO designation that I know of. I doubt that they are obligated to update the navigation maps unless there has been a TSB issued to fix a navigation software problem. But I guess it doesn't hurt to ask the dealer.

I purchased a CPO at the end of December and mine was not.

In addition both fog lights were burned out and neither of the recalls had been done. I was less than impressed with the 'CPO process', especially since this car had been on the dealer lot for quite some time, they had plenty of time to check to see if these had been completed after they purchased the car at auction.
