  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
why is the 5.0 genesis going for such crazy pricing? I see plenty of new 2015 for 38-42k

Because it's almost two years old, 2017 model will be arriving at any time to the dealers.

That's been going on for some time now. Those figures are based on Hyundai E-Plan (corporate employee pricing) certificates given to the dealers by the manufacturer.

I bought my 2015 5.0 non-Ultimate back in March 2016 for the E-Plan price of $38450. Even sweeter that the dealer got $0 for the add-ons for which they try to charge a ridiculous (about $3500 for stuff that cost $350) extra amount. Awesome car for that price level.

You can't even get a new BMW 328i for what the new genny 5.0s are going for right now.

Scratch that, I just looked up a 320i, and a new base one of those is what I got #Sarah for (no halos, memory seats, just a badge).

IMHO at this price point, I don't think there's a car out there that can match it in terms of power, luxury, comfort, and head turning good looks :)

Yeah. These price have been out for quite a while I got my 2015 non ultimate 5.0 back in February for just over 35000 with only 4000 miles

Great title for this discussion. Crazy pricing. Some of these deals are just amazing for how good this car is...

Not surprised at all, I hope to take advantage of the depreciation.

I got my 5.0 non ultimate for $38.6k and the dealer charged me $0 for his add ons, something like $2000 he would have charged me otherwise. You are getting luxury n power and much more!

I just got out of a 2017 benz E class and the ride quality was not impressive compared to the DH genesis.

the genesis DH has a firm, yet very resilient feel over road imperfection.

it makes even the roughest roads feel overall pretty comfortable.

the 2017 e class felt wobbly and all over the place.

I just bought a brand new Ultimate AWD for $41k. This is amazing car for this price and I've only seen ONE G2 Genesis in my month of ownership. Truly the best kept secret of a car. I simply can't afford a new German car equivalent....and I mean equivalent. My wife has a new Mercedes GLA250 which is really fun to drive, but it's not a real Mercedes luxury vehicle. I feel like a million bucks driving my Genesis, Hyundai and all....

genesis really making me consider it instead of the C63 AMG S

That C63 AMG-S is a HELL of a car and an entirely different experience compared to the Genesis. Definitely get a test drive of both before you make a decision...

yes I wouldnt say they are apple to apple, but the prices on the Genesis is very tempting.

I would say the C63 is a mid-life bad financing mistake.

Well, you'd be happy with either one - for different reasons. Like I said, that's a hell of a Mercedes-Benz. But the Genesis Sedan is a car that even a Mercedes-Benz owner can feel good about. It turns heads on the road and drives like a real luxury sedan should. Extremely comfortable, competent, feature-rich, road presence... It's all there.

yeah the genesis is pretty nice, especially at the prices you can get them for.

the c63 is a different car and sends a very different message as a owner. C63 shows pretentiousness, one is all about brand names, Willingness to massively over oay for the sake of social acceptance.

thw genesis on the other hand sends more of a humbling message. Shows one is more focused on the face value and not the branding appeal.

I take that as an insult considering I like the car. The C63 is more than "social acceptance" have you listen to the car sing? or look at what it's going against? The car shows little exterior difference over regular C class.

No one spent 80k for social acceptance, at least not this guy.

If Hyundai would have a performance V8 Genesis I would picked it already.

I loved the old(er) AMG shape a bit more, today if I have to make choice to keep to same size vehicle, it would be Charger hellcat (the C63, CTS V-Sport are too small), purely because I care less about social acceptance and that thing, at least in my mind, does put the C63 to shame on several performance related levels, inluding the ability to both sing and dance in a way the C63 can only dream off (fit and finish, name plate, weight, plus all the other trimmings non withstanding)

the c63 is not pretentious at all, its a performance sports car, so you can say any porches, m series, amg, supercar etc is pretentious then. I wouldn't put the genny in the same bucket as the c63 or even the c class in general due to the size difference but both are great nice cars for a different purpose.

Love the angry exhaust note of the 2008-2014 C63's. The new ones....those are ugly and quiet (no offense to anyone).

If you modify the exhaust of your Genny 5.0, the sound is almost the same as the older C63's. Mine sounds almost like it, but with some more rumble.

Agree with most, the C63 is more of a "drivers" car. The C250...etc, and is more badge affiliated. That's the car most people lease to show to their friends that they've made it (sorry, couldn't help it :D )
