  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Creaks, creaks.

I agree with foam possibly fixing the overhead console., I just have to convince the service department to get it done! I'm going to give the service manager a call, and see if he can assist in anyway with the problems that I've listed. If that doesn't work I will have to escalate.

There is also grease smeared on the pop-up fabric wind deflector. Really?? This is how you fix the car??

I'm starting to regret not spending a little more and going with the A6. While I do like the styling, feature set and ride, there are too many little creaks and noises for a car in this class.

The service/dealer experience also sucks! I've been to 2 different dealers for service - the first one left off most of the push connectors holding the bottom panels on at the first oil change. Really - they can't do basic service?? And now this second dealer can't fix the issue and just covers everything in grease!!

I also had them replace the rear stationary sunroof panel gasket that was peeling in the center (but that did not actually create an opening to leak into). Now I have a corner gap in that gasket on one side that you can clearly see will allow water to enter. I brought his to their attention, left it back there (they had for a week) and they said they replaced the seal again. Guess what, the exact gap is still there - so clearly they are lying!

That's horrible Nikgen. Have you tried making a complaint to someone above your local service center ? I think I saw something in one of the threads with an 800 number and a email address. You may need to escalate in order to get something done the correct way.

Yes - I am contacting Hyundai USA directly on this as well.

BTW - just noticed another issue. The bellows seal on one side of the roof is not installed correctly as they don't match. I'm assuming it's the drivers side that is wrong as it appears twisted if inserted at the end like this... Really??? I'm reaching my flashpoint with Hyundai on quality!!

My 1 year anniversary was Aug 9th. No creaks or rattles with 26,310 on the ODO. Easily the most solid car I have owned given mileage.

Lucky - they built yours correctly. Not the case for some of us. Do you have the panoramic sunroof?

does the sun roof leak water? I had a 2009 VW CC that had pretty much the exact same roof except the sunroof wasn't designed to slide back. It could tilt, but not open all the way like the rest of the car world does. what was interesting is the sun roof wasn't actually designed to seal to keep water out. Water would drain into the car through the doors and out the bottom of the door seals. This wasn't the best design because on some 2009 models an installer could have placed the bottom of the door gasket on the wrong side of the drain and the sunroof would drain water directly into the back seat floor boards.

My CC drained correctly with no issues.

Regardless of whether it actually leaks into the interior or not - it's not designed to have wide open gaps that WILL let water directly in to the roof mechanism! Who knows what that might cause over time - corrosion springs to mind. I already found the front fabric wind deflector wet a day after it rained - in the year I've owned the car, I've never found that wet before - so water is getting where it should not be already.

I didn't want a sun roof - I've got one - and they are apparently nothing but grief.

And, I have never used it, and I think maybe the best policy is never to ever use the thing. They look like they would rattle, creak, and leak - and apparently they do exactly that. Perhaps, if I never open the d##n thing, I won't experience the many reported problems.

I had a nice convertible at a much younger age and got all the sun I wanted - and really had no problems. Nothing like the stuff I see now.

Yes. I don't use it much. It's mainly a glass roof which is what I like about it. I don't think we've had it open more than a dozen or so times.

Nikgen's sunroof seal and bellows twist should never have left The factory that way. May have been assembled on a Monday morning after a Korean holiday of heavy drinking? And that grease smudges on the fabric is the result of pathetic laziness by dealership employees. I'd demand it be changed out if their capable of it.

The seal gap is the dealers handy work as is the twisted bellows, I suspect.

I've had similar creaks. Had to involve corporate to get my full sunroof/headliner replaced

Did that fix the problems?
