Hey all,

Two issues I'm facing with my 2014 Equus Ultimate...

(1) There are a bunch of small creaking sounds that I get from plastic stuff in my car. Does anybody have similar experience? Not like metal 'heaving' sounds but rather these are like micro-cricket sounds. I get the sound from the plastic of my rear console and from my rearview mirror. They're not loud but they are kind of irritating sometimes. When I go over bumps (including road humps) the sound emerges. Anybody have a fix? Or has gotten this stuff fixed at a dealer?

(2) I have the chocolate brown interior, and the paint on my driver side plastic door trim is starting to become very sensitive to my fingernails -- like, if I scratch it even a bit, it's starting to come off. Any fixes for this too?

You might consider stopping by an auto interior shop. They can tackle both of your problems.

BTW, your profile says you drive a Genesis 3.8. ????

KIA HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2011-2014 MODELS INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. THEY OFFERED FREE REPLACEMENTS AND SENT A LETTER STATING THAT THEY OFFER AN ADDITIONAL 100k WARRANTY ON THE PARTS AND LABOR COSTS IF OTHER HANDLES DEVELOP THE SAME PROBLEM.

I have a creaking noise coming from the HUD area on top of the dash, 2014 Ultimate with 13.5k miles. Very annoying on rough pavement. Seems to go away a bit if the dash is warmer from the sun. Dealer "didn't hear" the noise and blamed my tires (typical).

When I got my car with only 8,900 miles on it I noticed my rear view mirror mount was loose, tightened it with a screwdriver.

Anyone know how to remove the heads-up display unit? Or is there a bezel that can be removed easily?

Thanks for the link. I'll remove the bezel and check it to see if that's the source of the noise. Where'd you get your KDM grille? I've seen them on eBay for around $400.

Ebay, sold as used at a good price for me. I do like the waterfall/sharkstooth design better than the USA version (anybody need one?) Ebay seller korean_parts_master has been a good source of parts for me.

I get a creeking noise from sunroof- I close the cover and noise goes away- my seats may creek abit but I leather condition them so they are less noisy now

We had a creaking headliner.... dealer pulled it and found that some clips had broken.... we took it in right before the warranty ran out...... creaks were driving my wife nuts. (her car)
