  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Some of the posts make me wonder if folks took a test drive in their car before they bought it. I am not talking about legit problems but am talking about dissatisfaction with some of the cars features. I think dollar for dollar you'd be hard pressed to find as many features in a car at this price. Sure it can always be better but enjoy what you have.

If folks didn't comment on their car's features, this would be a pretty dull forum. Hopefully, too, Hyundai taps into this forum and makes changes/improvements based on what they read here. On the other hand, we've seen just how DEAF they can be regarding things like adding LED DRLs to the Genesis!!!!!

Agreed considering the value for price I think Hyundai has hit a bulls eye. Sure we can complain about this or that but in the end for a first year model I think it’ been an admirable effort. Diversity of opinion is one of the hallmarks of a good forum. While I may agree or disagree with a lot of the posts I respect their right to air them out and usually learn something from them.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I agree with Ernie, and Larry's other other brother... Ernie.

If you don't do research or even test drive the car you have no room to complain. Be like marrying someone you have never met before.

In life, we take the bad along with the good. This goes for cars, spouses and even things like spicy food. I sure love onion rings and barbecue and I reserve the right to complain loudly about them when they give me indigestion. The same goes for my cars.

I'm just laughing about the notion of research and "test driving" before marriage... ;-) (Seeing how well we can handle the "bumps"?)

Haha. I have always said that marriage should have a probationary period that is set up to "auto-renew" unless you give a 30-day notice you want out. Like many gym memberships ;-)

OP that doesnt make sense.. for example i have a complaint about bluetooth audio. It will never remember you left it on bluetooth, and switches back to fm/xm every time you start the car.

1. A freaken corolla will remember you left it on bluetooth
2. It's impossible to discover this during a test drive
3. I could read a hundred pages in the manual and it wont describe this
4. It's a pretty big problem for me because i only use my smartphone for music, like many people wish to do. Now, every time i enter my car i have to set it to bluetooth
5. What the hell hyundai, it doesnt even make sense in the first place!

That's horrible! Well, its got to go. Lucky you found out before you bought.

Now go get that Corolla!

No i bought it I got one of the first deliveries in my chosen color. I paid 50000 and im going to say my complaints. And unfortunately i have to deal with frustrating issues twice a day, every day. My previous car had no annoyances so i know i should expect none. It seems your standards are lower and you're okay with that

Well you can just leave your phone Bluetooth ON. And when ever you get back in your your car or power ON just hit the media key. It should bring you back to last music played on phone. I mean it always happens to me kinda annoying cz I have my iPod connected all the time. But anyways, did you set your phone priority on #1 in genesis Bluetooth settings?

I am pleased to see that there aren't many *problem* posts like other forums with new model year. If Hyundai is investing in marketing/research, I would think someone would be looking over a well established genesis forum for USA market. When many people say "what the hell, hyundai, no DRL for 50k car?", they might listen. They have 3.8 model with DRL (stock dual zenon), Hyundai just chose not to bring that here, at least for this year model. I have quite a few items on wish list but no comfort access on rear door & having to push the button to lock/unlock is one inconvenience on top of the list.

It has more to do with the tone of your post than your issue. The issue itself is pretty minor and, while it may bother you, its the first time, IIRC, it has ever been mentioned here. That makes it a pretty minor issue.

You chose to make it sound like a real show stopper.

Your post sounded especially angry. You weren't asking about a workaround or confirmation from others that the issue couldn't be resolved.

If the issue is so important to you that it makes you angry having to deal the issue twice a day, everyday, why didn't you check it out before you bought?

And what were you driving before that had no annoyances? Most people here have had other brands of luxury cars and I don't remember anyone saying they had a car with no annoyances. I usually drive a Corvette, they have lots of annoyances, my wife drives a Lexus now, traded in her Benz SL for it and both of those cars had their share of annoyances.

What were you driving that had no annoyances?

Mine doesn't work this way. When I start the car, Bluetooth recognizes my phone. If the last thing I was doing was listening to Bluetooth in "Media", then the car will be in Media mode, playing the songs I have in the Jukebox. All I have to do is select Pandora, Aha, or the streaming media option to listen to Music on my Bluetooth phone. This is not an inconvenience. Unless I mis-read your post, this doesn't sound like your experience at all.
