  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Currently use a roof mounted bike rack.
After test drive on the GV70 last week the salesman and I went to the parts dept to inquire about availability. Parts dept just got back and said there are no crossbars.
I'm wondering what others are doing? I really don't want to go aftermarket with something that looks crappy.
On another note, does anyone out there know the wheel specs for the 21's? Size rims; bolt hole spacing and size; offset.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. Now if I can get the offset, I can chase down what might be available to fit.
On another note, I've never seen a set of production wheels that arouses such strong feelings......LOL

If you can lay eyes on the backside of a stock wheel, often the specs/sizes are cast or stamped there. You'll be looking for an 'ETxx' number in mm. Positive number is positive offset, negative number is a negative offset. Otherwise you could measure the distance from wheel centerline to mounting hub.

Thanks!! Over 70 yrs old and I learned something new today.........LOL

To resurrect this thread regarding the roof rack. I contacted Genesis parts to see if there is a current availability or if it is in the future? The answer to the first part is that there is NO roof rack from Genesis at this time. As to the future, there was idea - just that it would happen. For those folks who plan on skiing or for those who need a roof box, or for those who mount bikes up top, you are on your own at this time.

I ordered a Thule setup for my GV70, I'll let you know how it goes once I get it.

So Thule setup came today. Fits perfect, just have to trim the crossbars to look more oem. I'll take pics once its done.

Wonderful....looking forward to seeing them installed up close!
And now if I can only come up with a wheel solution for the gawdawful oem 21's. I'm going to try for a 20" solution. 255/45 - 20's will be an equivalent replacement.
A side note before the hate mail comes in (LOL) ---- gawdawful only in my eyes ----- (and yes, once again, LOL)

Why not stick with 21"? Saves you the cost of new tires. I don't mind Genesis stock 21's but not crazy about the 19"s that came on my Advanced.

Usually I have a wide latitude for style. But for some reason, I can't get past the 21's on this car. As my kids used to say, "uglyuglyugly." .........LOL
Costwise, I figure about $1000 for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's or Cross Climates and about $1500 for wheels. Selling off the oem's should bring about 1000 -1500.
We shall see...........

I hear you, I meant stick with 21" aftermarket wheels. Keep the stock tires.

First off, the replacement tires for that size are limited, and what's out there is expensive. Second, for not great New England roads, these are a tad too low profile. I don't expect a major difference in ride comfort/handling tradeoff by switching sizes. I'm just not a fan of large wheels/low profile for everyday street use, and since that swap works, I'll go for the smaller wheels/slightly larger sidewall.

Personally, I like the stock 21's. They look distinctive like the G90 wheels. But it all comes down to personal preference, keep us posted on what you end up with.

Just checkin' in to see if you mounted the crossbars yet?
And if yes, any pics available...
Thanks!!

This is the only good pic I have right now. I'll take more once I put them back on.20210715_211653.webp

Can you give me the reference for the wing bars? I contacted thule Canada but they don't have the GV70 in their system so they don't know the which one will work on the car.

I put a pdf of my sales invoice above, all info should be there.
