  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Cruise Control - Smart or Not? Has anyone mastered it?

I feel I'm a master at using the "Adaptive (aka Smart) Cruise Control" on the GV70

  • Yes - It quells before me and performs wonderous things. I use it regularly.

  • No - Damn thing is clueless and overly complex. Instructions suck. I tried it and now avoid it.

  • Huh? - It has cruise control? I've actually never tried it.

I keep getting a warning indication that my front radar is blocked or not working on my 2024 G70. When this occurs, the cruise control will not work. It will not reset until I turn the car off and restart. Is there any way to use cruise control without it being in adaptive mode?
I am betting you mounted your license plate too high or bumped the front of the car into something. If not & that is how it came from the dealer or has otherwise recently developed - you are under warranty and should take it in to be serviced.

fwiw I just (yesterday) completed a 1400 mile drive from CT to FL. I had never used cruise in any previous car because of the way they responded. I really enjoyed this one! Even the lane keeping feature was left on, though I was pretty skeptical of that at 1st.
The ability to set the minimum 'closing' distance is a great feature along with how fast it accelerates to get back up to speed.
It's a keeper!

Sure makes a difference. I made that trip last month (RT 2835 miles) and usually do it once or twice a year. Without CC, I'd have to make more rest stops and not do as many miles a day.

I also listen to SiriusXM so I don't have to look for a new radio station every 60 miles like the old days.

Have been enjoying this for many years myself as well. And it is quite awesome - though if you are a die-hard 80's on 8 listener and driving quite far on the weekends you do keep hearing the same "VJ big 40" program every 3 hours... :D

I have 5 stations as favorites. Escape (easy listening), 40s, 50s, 60s, Symphony Hall.
I'm sure it is repeated during the day, but I change for the sake of change at times and don't notice it.

I do have a couple of USB sticks with music but rarely use them. It has been about 9 years since I listed to an AM/FM station. Even then, I'd listed to a local AM station for 10 minutes for the local news on the way to work.
