  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, so I remember previously having issues with cruise control. I press the cruise button, then down on the rocker to Set- and I get an error message. The same thing happens if I press cruise then up on the rocker. Am I missing something or do I have an issues with my cruise?

It would be helpful to know what the error message is.

Same as when you press the rocker up, the generic cruise control conditions not met message

how fast are you traveling?
is your foot on the gas or brake when you do this? (shouldn't be on either)
how close to other vehicles are you?

you have to be going faster than 9mph
your foot should not be on either pedal when you SET, resume it should not be on the brake, gas is ok..
depending on your SCC setting (how many bars) if you are too close to the vehicle in front of you, you will get this message.

example, if you have it set to 4 bars and are in stop and go traffic traveling 10-20mph and are less than 2-3 car lengths from the vehicle in front of you, it will not set..

Ideally you want to be moving over 10mph, have at least 2 car lengths between you and the vehicle in front of you, turn on the cruise, remove foot from pedal, press set, then push up to accelerate the vehicle, don't use the pedal.

Pressing the rocker up will increase the speed or resume if already set. Did you press the rocker DOWN first to set the speed? You have to do that in addition to turning it on.

Do you turn off TCS/ESC? If either one is disengaged, Cruise will not turn on.

This.

Happened to me the other day. Got an error message saying conditions not met for cruise control, couldn't figure it out for the life of me...didn't know that disabling traction control would prevent me from using it. Turned it back on, problem solved.

Yeah was on the highway. All alone. Didn't turn anything off. Will have to contact Genesis and get it in for service as it did work before.

Mine was doing the same thing and the fix was to replace cruise computer.
