When I lived in Western NY, I saw a plate that said.

4X4x8

Cold weather guys know this is
“A Cord” as in a cord of firewood.
A stack 4 feet deep by 4 feet high by 8 feet long.

Yes, car was a Honda Accord.

BTW, most firewood sold by the
FaceCord 18 inches deep by
4 feet high by 8 feet long. 18 inch firewood will fit in a wood stove.

Also II rather than XX. Other than all the roman numerals wrong it was OK.
I saw a poster once, across a room and after inspecting it later it was about a jaunt to a gulf coast casino. What caught my eye was the bold letters at the top BILOXI and I thought it was some Roman numeral I could not decipher.

It's interesting how sometimes our brains can misinterpret what we see, especially when it comes to things like text and symbols.
