Recently, my wife closed the driver's side rear door onto the hard edge of a drawing board she had placed across the floor and punched a nasty hole into the speaker grille. I've pulled the lower part of the door casing away to find that the grille is quite a complex molding riveted into the casing assembly.
We took the car to the dealer hoping that they could obtain the part and repair the door casing. No such luck - apparently Hyundai do not supply that part. I would have to buy a complete replacement door casing costing well over $1,100.
I'm currently in discussion with our insurance company on this matter. However, I was wondering if any of you guys have any thoughts on how to obtain a replacement grille molding so that I may get the otherwise perfectly good door casing repaired. I don't imagine that there are many wreckers yards carrying this item.
