  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not sure how many members have already installed these (mine are on order), but I would love to see some pics if anyone can post?

Hey Viking--

Sorry to be off topic, but how do you like your Axcess (sp?) tint? I'm having 35% installed on Wednesday of this coming week. The company doing it for me has done my previous three vehicles...very pleased with their work (thus the repeat business) and their lifetime guarantee....only had one issue on a rear window of a Mazda Millenia once many years ago...they took care of it in record time.

I've used the metallic tint on previous cars, but after reading all the posts, decided upon the non-metallic as suggested in the owners manual.

BTW, I have a '09 3.8V6 w/Premium Plus pkg...cabernet color w/black interior...I absolutely LOVE this car!

Thanks for your time!

Dan

For what it's worth, you can mix the tint. Only need non-metallic on rear. In the pic below, my sides are 20% and the rear window is 15%. Not really sure why they couldn't match them, but the guy said metallic is 20 and non-met is 15. At least on the black car, you can't tell a difference.

No doubt...on the black car, it looks incredible. I had a Mazda Millenia in years gone by that was black on grey...tint was phenomenal to the look of the car! 35% is what's legal around here, and I don't really want it much darker regardless. I keep a pair of "Pacific Trader" sunglasses very close by!

Thanks for your thoughts!

DanTheMan,

I love the Llumar Ceramic ATX tint. The last car I had tinted was in AZ and I went with Huper Optic ceramic. They don't have any Huper installers in MN so I went with the ATX but I like it just as well. Really liked the heat rejection qualities of that Huper tint but now that I am back in MN I don't worry as much about the heat - just the looks.

50% is legal in MN and I took a calculated risk at going with 40% -- there was a pretty big difference in my mind between the look of the two (50% barely looked tinted IMO). Note that if you go with this tint, it actually meters a little lower -- so 40% will meter around 35% if I do get pulled over for the tint. If you want a good site to research tint go to:

In the future, please either start a new thread asking your question, send a private message to the member you have a question for, or simply leave a message in the member's profile. This brought the Wheel Cap question too far off topic.

Thank you,

...with a wet noodle, please.

Don't worry - I make the same mistake myself - STILL. It's very easy to bring a topic off subject. Look, I'm doing it right now (wet noodle for me too). I just try to bring attention to it when it's done - hoping other people see how we're trying to stay organized - and that it happens less in the future.

Wet noodles aren't my style, but I am having the windows tinted on Thursday (had to move the appt. due to several conflicting appointments out of my office). I can't wait to see the completed project!

Speaking of tint, I get the top portion of the front windshield done in limo - which helps Immensely with sun. And I even have the entire front windshield tinted in the lightest tint available. It really helps a lot...
