  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good morning all.

I was wondering if there are any dash cams out there with no wires... For instance, a dash cam like a phone. I can charge it before bed and wake up and use the next day. All of the dash cams I see online are hard wired with cords dangling from the window to an outlet. I would like something that I can charge and when i'm ready to use it, mount it? Are these even available? If not I'll just use an old cell phone ;) thanks

Any audio shop can do it. I used T-taps. Two and done.

I'm sure he meant to say "just hard wire to mirror power."
Your mirror has switched 12V power running to it, and that circuit can spare enough to power a dash cam or radar detector. You just have to splice into a couple of wires.

Ohhh ok I see now... Thanks for the advice!

When it's hardwired to a rvmirror then it is possible that some features won't work. For instance, my cam has features that require a 12v signal when parked.
