Been here awhile...
Went to Hyundai Tech center in Chino, CA to get the Genesis' emission system check. Apparently this is a government sponsored program for all new cars. Also there was a Hydrogen fuel station there (which I've never seen and a Kia sportage that ran on Hydrogen.)
Here's what the letter said:
The test will take about 5 - 10 minutes to complete. We will simply be plugging in a scan tool to your OBDII (your vehicles computer) and downloading data from your emissions sensors. It is a way of monitoring the emissions of our vehicles, and is a government regulated program. After the test has been completed, you will receive a gift card from Target for $25
