  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was driving today and I noticed, from the reflection of my car from the rear of the car I was following, that my DRL's weren't on. I pulled into a parking lot to check them out and indeed, they weren't on. I cycled through all the settings on my stalk, from auto, to parking light, to headlight, back down to parking, then back down to auto, down to off, back up to auto. They didn't come on.

Frustrated, I drove off and when I was behind another car at a stop light, I flicked my high beams at my reflection and lo and behold, my DRL's came on. Relieved, I brushed it off as a glitch and continued on with my day.

Later in the day, I was driving around on another errand and I noticed they were off again. I flicked my high beams thinking I had found my solution and just my luck, they still didn't work. Again, I drove off frustrated wondering WTF is going on. A few minutes later I noticed in another reflection that they were on again! When I got to my destination I left the car on and got out to take a look at them and they off AGAIN! WTH!

This was all happening between 11-2pm, with the sun at its highest point during the day in a clear and cloudless southern California afternoon. The car was not cycling between headlights and DRL's. The DRLs were simply not on. I have the 2015 signature so my DRL's are the inner lights, not the eyebrow.

I do have the PIAA bulbs installed and will switch them back to the stock orange in case that is the problem. I suspect it isn't though because my signals do not hyper-flash and I have had them installed for a while now and this problem hasn't happened until today. At least not that I have noticed.

I also have fog lights installed but they are wired independently to ignition and have nothing to do with the headlights and that whole assembly and wiring.

I am going to make an appointment with the dealer but asking here just in case this has happened to anybody before and if so, what the resolution was. Hopefully it's something simple.
