My 2015 4D 3.8 Ultimate 91.5k miles has been in the shop for almost a month after completely dying on the highway while on a weekend trip.
Had to call Hyundai emergency roadside and the tow brought it to the closest dealer where it's been ever since.
First stab was changing out the starter and spark plugs, which got the car running again but now the engine is struggling on start, car smells of gas, and the check engine light is still on. (Pretty livid because I had to travel to get the car back like 4 hours and it wasn't fixed yet when they said it was ready).
Had them look at it again and they finally got back to me saying the fuel injectors need full replacement (cleaning wouldn't be good enough) and it was going to cost over $3000. Unfortunately fuel injectors aren't covered under the powertrain warranty.
Does anyone have any experience with fuel injector problems on their car? Any advice would be appreciated at this point.
I'm getting tired at this point and even had them quote the car, but it was such a low-ball offer (11k vs 16-18k in good condition, and I still owe about 13k on the car). Kept the car well maintained up to this point and it was perfect until these issues manifested.
