  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was at my local dealer today and asked about the 2014. He said that there would be very little change from the 2013. Also said end of year.

He also said that 2015 was the big design change.

Comments about his accuracy?

Initial speculation was that it would be revealed in late '13 as a '14 model, which turned out to be overly optimistic. Hyundai has confirmed that the car is going to be introduced in 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show and it'll be labeled as the '15 model. So your dealer is not wrong, but he's talking about the same car that the forum has been calling the '14 model.

Yes, according to everything I have seen posted on this forum, that is accurate. The second generation Genesis will be a 2015 model (at least in North America).

But not sure that end of this year for 2014 model means December 2013. It probably means September/October, just as is usually the case. Dealers don't want customers to think a new model will be available in a few months, since they want you to BUY RIGHT NOW.

It's still not entirely clear if the 2014 NAIAS will preclude the Genesis launch in the Korean market in late 2013.

If Hyundai doesn't launch the 2G Genesis in Korea until after the NAIAS, then the US launch likely won't be 'til mid-year 2014 since Hyundai likes to do the KDM launch 5-6 months before the NA launch for new models.

This would be my guess as well. We'll see a 2014 Genny soon (by fall this year) which will basically be just another go of the current car. And then we won't see the 2015 model till summer 2014 at the earliest considering it won't bow until the next NAIAS which is January 13-26, 2014.
