  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just curious if anyone has had the dealer fix their frozen NAV/system problem? Mine is freezing about 10% of the time and I would like to get it fixed. I haven't seen anyone on the forum who has had this problem resolved. I have had the dealer flash the software (his words - I assume he meant reload) but that did nothing - same problem. I would like to hear from anyone who has had the dealer fix this issue. Or - if the dealer has taken some action that did not fix it that would be good to know also.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Can you specify whether you have the Premium Package touch-screen NAV, or the Tech Package NAV, and also the model year of your Genesis?

I have a 2012 with the Premium package (including touch screen NAV). I want to go back to the dealer, but I don't want them to just shotgun replacing things that won't solve the problem.

I have a 2011 with the Premium + Premium Nav. We have this issue on occasion.

I have not seen a single instance reported where a definite solution has been found for this issue.

I also have NOT taken the car to the dealer for help since it is impossible to replicate with any certainty and I also do not want the "shotgun" troubleshooting approach used on my car....

Having experienced the Hyundai "head in the sand" attitude toward the obvious Bluetooth flaw associated with this package...

(I would be interested to know if this still exists in the 2012's)

Interesting Note...if you press the PHONE button while the system is "locked up" showing the H logo, you will see "BlueTooth Initiailizing" at the top of the screen. I believe that this issue is related to the wonky Bluetooth implementation in this package...

I have zero desire to deal with them on this one. Instead I just won't buy a Hyundai again...

Also..please note that this is specific to the Premium + Premium Nav. It won't be long before a 4.6 with Tech owner chimes in with a me too post about the head unit locking up with no audio, etc...NOT the same issue.

Hi,
I have 2011-4.6 with all options. Sometimes the audio stops and all functions associated with audio (phone-navi-radio ) are dead. I have to turn off the car and in about 15-30 min it is back.

Also sometimes while i warm up the car the display goes off and i hear hard drive restart, just like a PC. After that in a minute or so all functions are back.

Any ideas?
Any TSBs for the above
Thanks, Eli

Right on cue!

I wonder if this has anything to do with humidity and temperature? My cd deck stopped working a few days ago in my Suburban. I thought it had died. Now its working fine and I thought about the days it would not work and they were very humid and cold.

The "locked up" Nav system on the Premium Pkg with the Touchscreen Nav where the H logo never goes away (which is what this thread WAS about...) seems to be totally unrelated to temp/humidity. So far I have not found any correlation to any outside event such as: time of day, how long the car sits, how long between starts, temp, humidity, driving habits, etc...

The only very loose correlation that has been inferred in other posts on this subject is that shifting into reverse while the system is still "booting up" or showing the H logo seems to trigger it. However, it is NOT direct correlation since it does not happen all the time...
